Re: excellent review (Reply to this comment)

You've raised some good points that I've never considered. I used to be the Bratz dolls biggest fan, now I'm more into music. I thought of another two cons about these dolls:
How much they're starting to cost. The current, 2003 collectors edition dolls (spring fling, slumber party, formal funk) are wayyyyy too expensive.
How their clothes are now. The original set, though coming with some trashy clothing, are more tame than the 2003 set. I will never buy 2003 Strut It Meygan on account of the fact that her shirt is see through.

BunnyGurl and I are NOT the same person. I notice that both her opinions and mine have been deleted, obviously people are using the coincidence of the similarity in our names as a reason to delete opinions that they disagree with. I have nothing against anyone with a different opinion, but it seems as if YOU are threatened by someone challenging YOUR opinion. I have never personally attacked anyone here, I believe it was BunnyGurl who said something to that effect.
Further more, I think that if someone WERE trying to post as two different people, they would be extremely stupid to use such similar names.
In conclusion, since this review IS indeed more than one year old, what are YOU doing replying to the comments?
Sincerely,
Cabunnie

Well it is the parents job to step in when something their kid wants is inappropriate. If a kid wants a bikini when they're three, it doesn't mean the parent should say "Okay, honey if you like it that much you can have it." It means if they find it inappropriate they will tell their child they cannot have it.

No, we arent sisters or the same person. I didnt realize that your review was so old and I dont have any reviews because I am fairly new to Epinions. Considering you have been using the internet for at least a year, you must know that bunny is a common name. I wasnt trying to attack you in my posts or whatever you thought I was doing. I dont have anything against you but you seem very angry with me. I think its very unfair you see two people with similar names and decided its an eight year old fooling around with her mothers computer.

so-are you sisters, or just the same person trying to be cute? Interesting that neither one of you has written any reviews.
Speaking of which-this review is what? a year old or so-find another playground to throw sand in.
Or better yet-go to bed before your mother discovers that you are up playing with her computer.

I don't think kids will start dressing like or wearing make-up like the Bratz just because they get a Bratz. They might get the wrong idea though, they might not know dressing like that is inappropriate. You have to tell your kids what is appropriate and what isn't. I wasn't allowed to have Barbie until I was 7 but I got other more little girl looking dolls as an alternative.
I think kids wearing skimpy clothing, heavy make-up, and whatever else is a result of their parents not controlling them. Sure if a girl is 15 or 16 I can see her rebelling and being hard to control but a woman I know has a 4 year old that is already in bikinis and mini skirts and her mother's excuse is "She wants to wear what's trendy." another person said "My six year old loves to wear her belly shirt and low-rise jeans, I really don't want to encourage this." I'm thinking who is buying these clothes for their kids??? These kids aren't old enough to actually work, it isn't like they are buying it on their own. So really Bratz and aren't the problem it's people not communicating what is right and what is wrong to their children.

Am I the only one whose stomach turns when I think of having a little child change those shoes by tearing off the doll's feet?
This is a great review, by the way.

unfortunatly, selling things is more important than encouraging young girls to be something "good". so long as Sex Sells we will most likely see dolls like this on the market.
thanks!

tell young girls that science, math, reading, and thinking their own thoughts are cool, not dressing slutty and having the most skin showing? Nice review.

Re: Barbies Aren't Bad Enough? (Reply to this comment)

pamela-I think you nailed it-kids Don't need dolls like this! these kinds of dolls teach young girls that they NEED to look like this when they grow up-Barbies are bad enough-these are just plain trashy.
I think I am going to start requesting Bonds or book certificates for my daughter as gifts-rude I know, but I'm sick of her getting toys like this-

Barbies Aren't Bad Enough? (Reply to this comment)
by thedragonweyr
They have to give little girls even sexier toys to play with? What will be next, Playmate of the Month dolls? Heck, why not get the kids those inflatable things, a toy and object lesson in anatomy and sex education all rolled into one neat package that can even wear Mommy's clothes! Think of the money that would be saved on teeny outfits and if you need an extra person to use the car-pool lane, just borrow your daughter's doll. Not to mention the handiness of having a surrogate around when Mommy has a headache!
You hit a nerve with this review! Children learn about life soon enough, their toys don't need to be graphic representations of the lowest common denominator. Wouldn't it be nice if they chose to emulate a finer example than a navel-flashing parody of a ghetto gang-banger?

Sorry the link didn't work-Amazon was acting up for me earlier, I'll find a link for what's available at kbkids and add that one too.
as far as collectable dolls-I've seen worse believe me! my friend bought my daughter some dolls a few years ago that bosted being in the 'hood dolls. (she did get them on clearance for .98 each) they were the only dolls other than Barbie at the toy store that were Ethnic.

...I was able to talk my friend out of buying one of these for her 4 y.o. daughter! I thought the name was awful and asked her if she really thought a doll by that name was appropriate.
I'm so glad my 8 y.o. is into American Girls. They are pricey, but I love that they are so WHOLESOME!
Great review on an awful doll!!
