Ok, there are over 225 opinions on Dreamweaver 3.0!
If you know nothing about this product - go see the review of 3.0 since 4.0 is merely more of the same, and a little more of the new. It's still the best web design product on the market - especially when used with the many other Macromedia products available.
Whether you are a beginner, amature or professional web designer, DW4 is a software package that will allow you to create almost any web page you wish. Easy to use toolbars, text & graphical design modes, code mangement and anything you would want.
DW4 is fully customizable, if you know what you are doing. Plugin modules can be downloaded from the Macromedia site - which extend the functions of the program. Many are free! You can write you own modules, and you can edit the included commands and processes.
The best function of Dreamweaver is automatic website management. First, you can define as many different and independent websites as you wish within the program, and edit them independently. Second, Dreamweaver will publish the site to your server, via local copy or FTP - seamlessly! This is critical for large websites, or even smaller ones. It allows you to ignore your remote online site, and let DW4 decide what files need to be updated.
Dreamweaver can be downloaded and used on a trial basis. If you have never used it, I suggest you try it before you buy it. But, I am sure you will choose this one above all others (especially MS-FP).
