Pros: Powerful: What you see is what you get; implement flash images, interactive menus, and more!
Cons: More severe learning curve for the more complicated features and options.
The Bottom Line: Dreamweaver 4 is the best and most complete tool for designing web sites. With the excellent software integration and tutorials, it can not be beat.

Macromedia Dreamweaver 4 is the best web site development tool on the market.
You have complete control over code and design with the visual layout of Dreamweaver. What you see is what you get. No more messing around with HTML.

Templates: Templates allow for customized layout control. Graphic Artists, Staff writers, etc. are able to contribute without compromising the layout of the site.
Integration: Dreamweaver integrates wonderfully with Macromedia Fireworks and Macromedia Flash 5. Easy, two step integration.
Support: This latest version supports XML, XHTML, and ASP development.
Dreamweaver is relatively easy to use. Once you try it, you'll never go back.
The Macromedia Dreamweaver web site is a really great tool to get started. You may download a 30-day trial version, download tutorials and extensions, and see sample sites designed using Dreamweaver 4 MX.
How To Start:When Dreamweaver loads, you are presented with a blank web page. You may start entering text immediately by simply typing, or explore more of this powerful program. Changing the color of the text, size and font is simple. Highlight the text you want to edit, click the Text tab at top of the screen. You can then change the color, size, or font of the text. You may even bold, italicize, or underline text as well. To change the background color of the web page, click the modify tap on the menu, then select Page Properties. You may now change the background color, or select an image to become the background.
Be sure to read the Help Manual for any questions, and run through the tutorial a few times to get a feel for the program. Once you play around with it more, you'll feel more comfortable.
For the more complicated features and options, I recommend using the included tutorials. Click the Help tab on the menu bar at the top of the screen, then select Tutorials.
My Experiences: I have used Dreamweaver for about a year and a half. I don't however, use it to make a living. I bought this product for the sheer joy of designing web sites. I regularly use Macromedia Fireworks 4 to design graphics, and then implement them into my Dreamweaver project. Dreamweaver makes this very easy to do; two-steps and my graphic is displayed on the page! I have considered developing sites professionally, and this would be the product to use! If you are considering doing this too, I suggest buying the Dreamweaver/Fireworks packaged bundle. It ranges in price from $300-$400. You are able to purchase Dreamweaver from Macromedia.com
