Pros: Extremely convenient. It works great while the cups last. Great invention.
Cons: Cups and cup bases need to be tougher.
The Bottom Line: It is a great invention. It works great, just not durable. I hope to see a new improved model.

| FiveHoyts's Full Review: Magic Bullet High Speed Blender Mixer System |
I love my Magic Bullet, especially for making Banana shakes. I have had it one year (Since Dec 2004). We use it most every day, but it is wearing out. A couple months after purchase, one of the plastic slots (that lock the cup and base to the into the magic blender) broke off. The cup will still work with even one (of the three) plastic slots intact. We now have lost one (of three) from one and two each of the other three. You have to be careful when one breaks. They usually break when inserting to the machine base (possibly caused from operator error - not being level on all sides when pushing down). When they break, be careful ... the plastic piece may get stuck in the base causing it to not shut off right away when you take the cup off. (Without thinking, I almost tried to stop it with my hand.) I had unplugged it, tapped in on its side and the plastic slots (if still lodged) have came out. One of the two cup bases had two problems and was thrown out after 8 months (of mostly daily) use. First, the gasket seal would leaked. It was not major, but since you cannot submerse the machine to clean, I would have to wipe it up and food would dry in the cracks. Secondly, the rubber feet on the cup base (that sits on the machine base to make the internal cup spin food) wore off the cup base bottom. Since the cup goes up and down, they should have made the base attachment parts with something other than rubber. The other cup base (it comes with two bases and four cups) still works but does have wear. It may eventually have to be replaced. In regards to the television infomercials: I do not recommend making Chicken Salad as the infomercial states. It comes out too creamy. You also have to experiment to get the right timing to grind beans for coffee. The blender does crush solid ice, but tends to get stuck when grinding larger cubes (not enough power). Large ice cubes can get stuck and may cause wear on the rubber base attachment. We also have the optional blender/juicer attachment, but have never used it. I rated this as not recommended mostly because of the quality for the price. I love the blender and if I divide it out by how many times I have used it, it seems like a great deal, but soon I will have to spend more for cups and new cup bases. I think the cups and cup bases should have lasted longer than 8 months to a year.
