Everything I needed to know was in your review. Thanks for really helping. And you gave me tips on how to write better reviews. Thanks again.

Hi Dave - Well, I probably wouldn't have been interested in buying it at $99, but at $50, I thought it was worth a try (and my sons wanted to get me something "fun" for my birthday) -- so there you go! :))

This was reviewed in Cook's Country (Reply to this comment)

Cook's Country is a sister magazine to Cook's Illustrated (Cook's Illustrated has a magazine with no advertising accepted..and also has a weekly PBS show called America's Test Kitchen).
Here's what they said about Magic Bullet:
If youve watched enough television, youve probably heard of the Magic Bullet. According to the infomercial, this multipurpose tool can peel, chop, mix, blend, whip, grind, and more. Can something that looks like a small blender really do all this?
To find out, we ran the Magic Bullet through a dozen tests, from grinding coffee to blending a microwaved Alfredo sauce. It performed well when grinding dry items, such as spices, coffee, and Parmesan cheese, but most every other test proved problematic. Attempts to chop onions yielded a flood of juice. Cream whipped so quickly that stopping anytime before stiff peaks was nearly impossible. That Alfredo sauce? The Magic bullet managed it, but a whisk could have done the same.
In the end, this $99 countertop magician is not able to deliver on its laundry list of promises. In addition, storing the units 23 pieces is a nightmare, and the motor emits an eardrum-bursting noise that makes a regular blender seem downright quiet. Well take our favorite blender--at half the priceany day. Well just stick with a whisk, knife, or coffee grinder when the need arises.
That review, published in June, 2005 makes me more hesitant to buy this thing than I was!

Yeah, hate to say it, but I do like it and find it really handy for whipping things up quickly!
Good luck with your wedding!

Thank you for your birthday wishes, Barbara. I think I should stay away from infomercials too, since I have a track record of being sucked in fairly easily! ha!

Hi Susie, I used it this morning to make some omelettes and threw in cheese, avocado, onions and red pepper....it was yummy and I have to admit....fast! The cleanup was easy too, which is important in my book.

Thanks Howard - it is pretty decent. They probably have the same infomercial in your area too, so maybe you can catch it.

Re: I was wondering about this thing... (Reply to this comment)

I have tried the garlic and onions, but not one or two cloves of it. It has probably been more, but they claim it will chop cilantro and other leafy greens too. I have no reason to doubt that it would work just as well on that. The nice thing about it is that you can throw it all in together and let it chop it all up at once.
Thanks for commenting.

I was wondering about this thing... (Reply to this comment)

I'm a nut for gadgets for the kitchen. My wife and I have seen this so many times and I kept wondering if this thing was any good.
Question, have you tried chopping small amounts of things like garlic cloves or mincing small amounts of parsley or other herbs? That's been my biggest complaint in any of these small food processors.
