| ldusold's Full Review: Magic Bullet High Speed Blender Mixer System |
Believe it or not, the first I had ever heard the name "Magic Bullet" was on Christmas day when I opened up a gift from my sister. I didn't want to let on that I had no idea what it was, so I just smiled and secretly couldn't wait to actually get into the box and check it all out. Needless to say, later that evening, I opened up the box, and started checking everything out. Of course since I hadn't ever even seen a commercial about the Magic Bullet, I didn't exactly know how it worked. So I began to look through the book, and find out just exactly what this thing did. I was impressed to say the least!
What they say: "The Magic Bullet does any job in 10 seconds or Less" My first reaction to this statement was "Yeah - Right!" So I decided to attempt to go ahead and use it, and give it a try. My nephew was spending the night that night, and since he has special dietary needs, I decided that I would use the Magic Bullet to make him a fat free chicken salad. All claims about how fast and simple the Magic Bullet was to use, were true. But I didn't find that I was able to make the chicken salad in only 6 seconds like they claim. It took a little longer than that, by the time I chopped the celery and the onion, mixed the fat free Mayo along with the chicken. No, it definitely wasn't a 10 second job. I'm not complaining though, because it was still faster than if I were to have stood there and chopped all those things by hand. Later that day I made fruit smoothies. Those were done in a jiffy. Less than 10 seconds, using frozen fruit and fruit juice and ice cubes, we had a regular smoothie bash going on here! I fell in love with the Bullet from that point on.
I've always been one to use my blender, it sits on my counter-top, but I have found that it's much easier and faster to use the Magic Bullet. Clean-up is a snap, not to mention you can actually use the same cup that you mixed in as a drinking cup. With having only two types of blades to contend with, you can do almost any chopping, mixing, or blending job imaginable.
What do you get with your Magic Bullet?
• Cross Blade
• Flat Blade
• Tall Cup & Short Cup
• 4 Party Cups
• Re-Sealable Lids
• Comfort Lip Rings
• Shaker/Steamer Tops
• Blender and Lid attachment
• Plunger
• Extractor
• And of course the High-Torque Power Base
• Recipe book
The tall and short cups are both top-rack dishwasher safe, as well as microwave safe. They are used to mix, blend, cook, and store your ingredients. The four party mugs can work the same way, with the exception of being microwave safe. DO NOT put them in your microwave. You can create frozen drinks, and then screw on the Lip Rings so that you or your guests are not drinking from a cup with threads on them. The Lip Rings come in Red, Blue, Green, & Yellow, and make it ever so easy to tell the difference between who's cup is who's.
The Magic Bullet Blender is a nice added feature. Sometimes you want a little more than the tall and short cup can offer. The blender is said to be "Full Size" but in my personal opinion, it's not. It is a bit shorter in size than your average blender, but either way, it works just as well. You also get two re-sealable lids, so if you feel like storing part of what you have made, it's easy to do, snap on the lid, and refrigerate. It's that simple!
The Magic Bullet Juice Extractor Kit includes both the Extractor and Plunger. I can't say that I've used this part of the Magic Bullet set yet, but hopefully I will get to do that. According to what they say, you won't ever have a need to use a more expensive machine for making your juices. You can make your very own fresh juice using these two items. Both of these pieces are also dishwasher safe!
The steamer and shaker covers, are not something that I thought I would be using. Although, I was surprised to read in the book that you can use the tall and short cups with these lids to actually STEAM your food. Who would have ever thought? Amazing - one of these days I will have to give that a try. The blades are both dishwasher safe, and the users manual does give you a heads up about the gaskets that are inside the blade rings. Heat from dishwashers can cause the gasket to loosen, so if you do put them in the dishwasher, be sure to check the gaskets before using the blades again.
When using this Magic Bullet System, everything is made to be simple. The high power base is definitely powerful. You can put whatever attachment that you are using on the base, and either press down with your hand for a quick mix, or you can turn the attachment slightly to the left, and the power base will mix, chop, or grind without you holding it. Another words, if you are holding the attachment down, the Bullet is running, when you let go, it automatically shuts off, unless you twist it to the LOCK ON mode. It can't get any simpler than that, can it? Whoever invented this idea really hit the jackpot with this one. The size of the Magic Bullet is amazing. It's small, and doesn't take up a lot of counter space, therefore making it a lot easier for you. If you are a person who puts your blender, or your food processor away in between uses, this is a better, smaller, and quicker solution. Since the Magic Bullet is not much bigger than a large coffee mug, space is never an issue. Even if you do choose to put the Magic Bullet away, it's lightweight and easy to move, so set up is a breeze.
Would I recommend the Magic Bullet? Certainly - I just feel stupid for not knowing this even existed. Imagine my surprise when I opened it on Christmas day? Can I live without it? Probably, but would I want to? Definitely not! The Magic Bullet is a huge time saver in the kitchen, and clean up is a snap.
If you are a person who likes to make instant breakfasts, or use Slim fast, then I would definitely recommend the Magic Bullet, it's great for those of you who wish to eat healthy, as well as those of you who are on the go, and want to make a quick breakfast or in between meal snack. Why not add some ice to that Slim Fast shake, and make it a treat instead of just something that you have no other choice to drink. Frozen Fruit and real fruit juice - can it get any healthier than that? Should you decide to buy the Magic Bullet, you will find a lot of quick recipes to try in the users manual. Not to mention some you may come up with on your own.
