Why This Mag Lite Part

I purchased this part because the factory lens in several Mag Lites were severely scratched up to the point it was causing the light from the bulb to be dimmed to a significant degree. If I was to guess I would say it was the brightness was at thirty percent due to the severeity of scratches and sheer number of scratches. The Mag Lites with the new plastic lens in it and the brightness of the light is at one hundred percent again.


Worth the Cost

Personally, choosing to replace the plastic lens is worth the cost to me because paying a dollar to five dollars is excellent compared to paying fifteen green backs to twenty bucks is good monetary sense especially with everything costing more these days. Another plus is you keeping something good out of the garbage dump or needlessly recyling Maglite that will last a lifetime or longer.
