Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros:Durable, water resistant, powerful beam, hefty weight for defense.
Cons:A little heavy, but that is a pro also.
The Bottom Line: The perfect flashlight...why buy anything else? If you need a high intensity flashlight, this is it.
I'm glad I finally got the time to write this review. This flashlight is my favorite flashlight I've ever owned. I have owned this flashlight for 6 years, just a little bit shorter time than my Mini Maglite Flashlite 2-Cell AA M2A81C

This flashlight is just a little over 12.5" long and weighs in at a hefty 30oz with the 3 D sized batteries installed.
The body of the flashlight is ridged to allow for a better grip if your hand is sweaty or the body gets wet. The front end of the flashlight is a moveable 2-3" long segment that will vary the focusing point of the flashlight beam to allow for different intensities and coverage areas. You merely have to turn the ring to adjust the light, very easy to do. The body contains a soft rubberized push button that will turn on/off the flashlight.
The very front of the moveable section is actually a threaded ring that can be removed to access the lightbulb when it burns out. I like this design better than my 2-AA flashlight above because it is more intuitive that you need to remove the back of the flashlight to change the batteries.
This flashlight is not water proof, but it does appear water resistant to me as I've used it outside in a moderate rain and it never quit working on me. I've also used this flashlight extensively around my SW fish tank and it does not have a spec of rust on it after 6 years.
In the cap (with an o-ring to prevent moisture entering the flashlight) that screws off the back of the flashlight body there is a spring and a very secure and padded extra bulb for the flashlight. My first bulb is still good 6 years later, so I've never had to buy the replacement bulbs that are typically available anywhere that sells Maglite products.
I have used this flashlight for 6 years and it has received its share of banging on walls, dropping on floors (both concrete and carpet) and exposure to extremely corrosive saltwater (Not dipped, just wet hands). It still works just as good as when I purchased it and I have zero complaints on this flashlight.
In times of heavy usage I need to replace the batteries every 1.5-2 months, but they typically last me 3-4 months with moderate usage.
Maglite does offer a limited warranty that covers most of the flashlight except the obvious (batteries, bulbs burning out and if you are unlucky enough, your batteries leaking). Don't even THINK of putting cheap batteries in this flashlight, you don't want to ruin a great flashlight with inferior batteries.

Aside from the standard usage around the house, this flashlight is intense enough that it can be used outdoors at night to search for things in the grass or low shrubs.
I was exaggerating just a little that it could double as an airport beacon, but 22,000 candlepower it is definitely bright enough to allow other people to see you at night and to be used for signaling in an emergency. I know I would want this flashlight with me in emergencies and always make sure to pack one in my car for long trips.
This flashlight is very hefty and could double as a self defense weapon in an emergency. I doubt many people could take more than one or two whacks to the head with this flashlight before running away or falling down injured. I'm not condoning using it as a weapon, I just know I grab my Maglite when I hear weird noises at night knowing it can help me do more than just light up my house.
Buy this flashlight and you'll probably never need to buy another again, barring weird circumstances. It is nice to see such a high quality item made in the USA :)
To me this is the perfect flashlight.
