These are awesome! My boys all had so much for with them but outgrew them - they still enjoy using them once in a while.

Your epinion was well-written. I know for a fact, because my son has one. He, too, immediately found out how to tear off the pencil attached to it. I may write the company and let them know that it needs to be stronger. Anyway, I love the cards. Often, the picture and word are on the same card, so it facilitates learning to read random words. For instance, the "sun" card has a picture of the sun and the separate, traceable letters s-u-n. Therefore, the child associates the picture with the word, practices writing individual letters, then lifts up the card to see the full word association. You gotta love it:)

I have recommended these to ALL of my friends. They are great for travel, at home, everywhere. My 4 year old LOVES hers.
I never put together in my mind how beneficial a Magna Doodle could be for children with needs such as Autism. How wonderful.
I wish you and your sons could do a commercial for Magna Doodle!

I agree that this item is good for autistic children. The drawbacks are correct as well. I have gone through two of these myself and the fact that I can not buy the replacement pieces has made me not want to buy it in the future.
