Pros:Excellent flavour and consistency
well priced for a premium ice cream.
Cons:I wish I "discovered" them earlier.
The Bottom Line: I can recommend Magnum. If there's anyone out there who has not yet discovered Magnum brand and their Double Caramel Ice cream Bar, get out there and find them! Delicious!!
Magnum Ice Cream Bars! It Took a Trip To Barbados To Discover them. Now they are in my home town. Well it seems I was late to discover them having been in my home town for a while...and my wife just got them on sale.

I happened to be in Barbados on an isolated beach on the quiet east coast of the island. We were walking among the famous mushroom rocks of the island. Unbelievably we heard the sounds of an ice cream truck!! My wife wanted a some quick photos. A bit later she came over to me with a treat on a stick that I won't soon forget. It was a Magnum Double Caramel Ice Cream Bar.
I was in heaven on the Barbados coast with views that were awesome while at the same time my taste buds were dancing with the flavours and textures of the Magnum Bar. Two firsts for me at the same time.
Magnum Double Ice Cream
It was after coming home to the states that I learned that Magnum is a British/Dutch company. I suppose with Barbados once being a British colony they still do much trading with them. The Dutch also did a lot of trading on these islands too. I was happy however when one day my wife came home with a big smile and this treasured ice cream. She purchased the multi-pack on sale. magnum makes a variety of ice cream flavours and types.
Yumm! Iloved magnum the first time I ever tasted it earlier this month. I love it even more that it's now available ( relatively new here) in the USA.
Magnum Double Caramel Ice Cream Bar contains ICE CREAM: MILK, CREAM, SUGAR, WHEY, MONO AND DIGLYCERIDES, LOCUST BEAN GUM, VANILLA BEAN SPECKS, CARRAGEENAN, NATURAL FLAVOR, ANNATTO EXTRACT (COLOR), CARAMEL COLOR. BELGIAN MILK CHOCOLATE COATING: SUGAR, CHOCOLATE LIQUOR, COCOA BUTTER, MILK, MILK FAT, PGPR (EMULSIFIER), SOY LECITHIN (EMULSIFIER), NATURAL FLAVOR. CARAMEL SAUCE: WATER, SUGAR, CORN SYRUP, HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP, NONFAT MILK SOLIDS, COCONUT OIL, MODIFIED and lots of other things in smaller amounts. If you have allergies be sure you do you own personal homework and never depend on a review of a stranger to protect you.
Ingredients one serving one bar
contains 320 Calories. Total Fat is 20g, 14 of which are Saturated Fat, and 0g of Trans Fat. Total Cholesterol equals 25mg. Sodium is a reasonable 85mg. Total carbohydrates total 32g. There is 1g of Dietary Fibers, 29g Sugars and 3g Protein. Other nutritional information includes 4% of DRV of Vitamin A, 10% DRV of Vitamin C, 10% DRV of Calcium and 8% DVR of Iron.
I like the thick walls of chocolate. The double wall doesn't separate in large chunks like a Dove Bar coating does. I like that because I better enjoy both the ice cream and shell together. The ice cream doesn't become a melting mess on my hands. I can eat the shell going down and get my tongue enjoying the creamy vanilla inside. Being able to go from the creamy cold vanilla to the rich dark chocolate and back again makes for an excellent ice cream treat experience.
There's something about that double chocolate shell and the caramel in between that makes this the best ice cream bar I have ever eaten.
I can recommend Magnum over a Dove bar or my top-shelf favorite, Haagen Dazz because the taste is even better and the method of eating changes with the double wall allowing a slower, more attentive eat from this big guy who tends to gobble up other bars much too quickly.
I still have to laugh about my discovering the product on the island of Barbados last week and now just days later I have a source here in the states at VERY competitive prices.
