I have owned this saw for over 6 years now and have had no problem at all with it. I am not going to tell you a lie and say i take care of it because i abuse this saw and it keeps on going.
The advantage to this saw is the size and light weight. You can get in corners and areas other cordless saws can not. It is very light weight and the charge last long enough but i would recommend 2 batteries. This makes it easy to have one charging and one for your work.
I use this saw for drywall and started using it to remove tile. I just tried cutting the grout out and the backer board of the tile at the same time and it works great. It creates less dust than any other method i used before and it makes it so much easier to remove tile than prying up sections. You just cut the grout and backer board to a manageable size and pry it off. The saw works great for concrete backer board. Anyone who has cut this stuff knows that it is a pain. This makes it easy and very little dust makes cleanup simple.
At first when i saw this tool i never saw any use for it. Then i tried one and since i bought it i have never looked back. I am finding new ways to use this saw every day and i love it. They even have a kit for cutting tile and stone with a wet attachment for the saw but i don't know how much work it can do on a charge.
Makita has so many attachments for this saw you can do anything with it. I use the carbide blade for everything. Wood, drywall, grout and many more. They have a couple of different blades for wood and tile. Get the carbide one you can use it on all of your work.
The saw has great balance and is very easy to use. Anyone can use this saw. It does not overpower you and is very manageable. The charge last pretty long but it depends on what you are cutting and if you are forceing the saw or letting it do the work.
Would i recommend this saw. I say if you want a small cordless saw that you can do anything with this is it. Don't plan on building a house with it but it makes life alot easier. Yes buy it you won't regret it.
