Pros: great option for trans-European routes.
Cons: none, really.
The Bottom Line: Fly Malev. Why not?

| traveleurope's Full Review: Malev Hungarian Airlines |
Very good airline. The aging fleet of Tupolevs and Ilyushins has been replaced with newer Beoings and Airbuses, but in some few cases, with older Boeings. Some Tupolevs are still used on charter flights from Budapest to holiday destinations. Still, their comfort is decent for the frequent and non-picky traveler. Malev is a great option for European travel, especially on trans-European routes and flights into or out of Hungary. Prices can get pretty competitive as well. My luggage missed its connection at Ferihegy, but despite all the troubles in air travel September of 2001, by luggage still made it to its final destination. Customer service over the telephone is a bit difficult, so you have to find ways to work around it. Ferihegy is a decent, average airport. Finding your way around Ferihegy is not too easy but not too difficult either. It's at the same degree of difficult/easiness as Frankfurt and Fiumicino. Only bad thing is that Ferihegy seems unorganized and stressing. But in the end, it all works out good.
