| Sherie0001's Full Review: Mancala |
Mancala is a great family game. I have a teenager and two toddlers and am always looking for games that everyone can play together. Mancala consists of the playing board, which is a wood rectangle with bowls carved into it, and stones. You begin with a set number of stones in each of the bowls in front of you (the more stones you start with, the longer the game!). You play by moving the stones around the board, according to the rules, and win by getting the most stones in your "home". It's a simple enough game, that even my 4-year old can easily play with me, and even loves to count the stones as she moves them.
Of course, as you learn to play, and start learning some of the tricks, it can become very challenging to play with another experienced player. My teenager enjoys this game tremendously and usually beats me at it! It's really a great gift for all ages of game-lovers. The price can't be beat, and this is also a very sturdy game that will hold up for years to come.
