Manhattan Toy Baby Stella: Such A Sweet Baby Doll!
Written: Jan 20, 2011
Rated a Very Helpful Review by the Epinions community
Pros:Sweet, soft, pacifier "trick", lots of optional accessories
Cons:None
The Bottom Line: There are many different Baby Stellas to choose from, including a little baby boy!
During the holiday shopping season, one of my mommy message boards had a new thread every day dedicated solely to Amazon deals. This source of information was very helpful, and I was able to take advantage of some great prices on gifts. One of the items that received a lot of chatter was the Baby Stella doll. She came very highly recommended, and so when the price dropped to about $20, I bought Baby Stella for one of my twins. Baby Stella is recommended for ages 12 months and up, and the twins were 18 months old in December, so it was a perfect match. Baby Stella is an adorable little baby doll. She has a cloth body, and cloth limbs. Her cloth skin is very soft. Baby Stella has some beans/pellets in her belly/bum. These pellets give Baby Stella a bit of weight, but she is not filled up with beans and floppy like a Beanie Baby. Baby Stella's facial features are embroidered onto her face. She has a little tuft of sandy colored felt strips on the top of her head. Overall, Baby Stella is very pretty little doll. Baby Stella is probably about 12-15 inches tall. Baby Stella comes with a little pink outfit with a top and bloomers. The top has a Velcro closure, which makes it easy for little hands to dress the baby. The pants are elasticized, which makes them easy to take off. Baby Stella may have also come with a little diaper. I seem to recall that there was a diaper, but my twins love to take off Baby Stella's pants, so I cannot say for sure. The best thing about Baby Stella is that she comes with a little pacifier. Baby Stella's mouth and the pacifier are magnetized, so the pacifier will "magically" stick to Baby Stella's closed mouth. All three of my girls love giving Baby Stella her pacifier, taking it away from her, and giving it back. This simple activity is an endless source of amusement for my girls. There are several Baby Stellas to choose from- some have fuller heads of hair, one is African American, and there is even a boy version of Baby Stella, who is inexplicably called.... Baby Stella. So, if you are interested in getting a doll that looks like your daughter, there is quite a selection. And of course, if you have a son, you can get a baby boy. They also have an extensive selection of Baby Stella accessories, like extra outfits, a diaper changing kit, a feeding set, and even a Moses basket for carting your baby around. Best of all, Baby Stella does not require batteries. Aside from her pacifier trick, she doesn't "do" anything on her own, so she is powered entirely by imagination. I highly recommend Baby Stella. She would make an excellent first baby doll. I found Baby Stella and her accessories on Amazon. Your children will love her just like mine do!
