I owned one of the large tillers for 5 years. I finally got tired of it and started looking for a smaller tiller. The large tiller was to big and heavy and a pain to move around. You can't use the big tiller in small spaces and it had a tendency to drag you around. I read about the MANTIS TILLER for years and finally decided to buy one. Their reputation was very good and the lifetime warranty on the tines was nice to have. The machine is small and light weight. It takes up very little room in my garage compared to the large tiller. This machine is very easy to use. I compare it to a weed wacker. You have to mix the gas with oil but if you have any other two stroke power tools you already have everything you need. The MANTIS is louder than my old tiller but that should be expected because it is a two stroke. The weight of this tiller makes it so easy to move from one place to another i just pick it up and walk to where i need it. The large tiller was very heavy and i had to push it to the place i needed it. I was tired before i even started. The MANTIS tiller doesn't drag you around like a big tiller. You can use it in much smaller areas like a bed next to your house. I would not attempt this with a large tiller because they can drag you into the house or worse yet pull to one side and pinch your hand against the house. The tiller works good in soft soil and does a good job of hard soil if you dig up the soil and add compost then till it to break it up. The small size means it takes longer to till a area but you are not as tired from this machine as you would be from a larger one. Anyone who has a couple places to till and has to move around a lot will love this tiller. One nice thing about the MANTIS is that you can carry it in a car trunk if you need to take it somewhere. I would recommend this tiller to anyone that wants a tiller except someone with a very large garden. The MANTIS will do most anything a home owner will need it for and take up a lot less space. The use of this machine is so easy i think anyone can use it. After 3 years i have had no problems with the MANTIS and enjoy it.
