Rated a Very Helpful Review

Pros:Loud, great tone, built strong, versatile and fun to play with.

Cons:THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING I FIND WRONG WITH THIS AMP!

The Bottom Line: the bottom line. If youre looking for an amp with rock'n distortion while also having a nice a clean tone. this amp is certainly for you.

When I first saw the valvestate series at a music store I didnít really know much about it. I had only heard about them. After playing around with an AVT275 (2x12' at 75 watts a piece) for a while I really wanted to get to know more about this amp. So after doing a little research I found out that the AVT is a hybrid amp that brings together tube and solid-state technology. At first I was a bit skeptical because I really didnít like anything about solid-state but after talking to a guitar salesman he told me that what this technology does is bring you great tube sound (with out getting that muddy sound at high gain volumes) at an affordable price with out all the maintenance. All in all I knew it was what I was looking for because I didnít want to spend a lot of money having to maintain an all tube amp. Well anyways.... lets get to the fun stuff.
1. This amp comes with 4 channels. Acoustic simulator, clean, overdrive1 and overdrive two.
The acoustic simulator seems to be quite useful when you donít want to bring out an acoustic onstage. As far as sound I think it sounds almost like an acoustic guitar set up to an amp. The only bad thing about it is that it doesnít get very loud (not as loud as the clean channel when on the same volume)
The clean channel is very crisp and clean. I especially like the crunch when you turn the gain up on the clean channel.
Overdrive 1 has a very light and crunchy distortion.
Overdrive2 has a thick and rich distortion that when you turn this puppy up loud it really thumps your head. This amp really gives the overdrive a real tube feel with great harmonics on both overdrive 1 and 2.
2. This amp even though it looks small, this baby can BUMP, mainly because of the closed back
3. Heavy!
4. Comes with 16 different digital effects. Has 10 different kinds of reverb (more than ill ever need) and more popular effects like flange chorus and delay.
From what I understand, they didnít model this amp to be like one of those fancy all in one amps that have like a billion different effects and stuff. Marshall just wanted to add something that would add a hint of flavor to your tone.
5. Capable of driving a cabinet. This amp is capable of all kinds of things but I donít want to get into that because frankly that would take too long and Iím a lazy person :).
