| kparsons13's Full Review: Martha Stewart Everyday Ceramic Bowls |
Well when my fiancé and I met we both really didnt have anything as far as furniture, electronics, and kitchen supplies. We have been building as we go along and my family has helped tremendously in that area.
The one product that I really wanted and knew we could afford were nice ceramic bowls. A beautiful matching set. Up until now we had three big bowls that didnt match and I hated them. They were older than I was since my fiancé received them from his grandfather. So when my father sent a gift certificate to Super Kmart, ceramic bowls were just one of many items I was ready to pick up.
Super Kmart is the only distributor of the Martha Stewart Everyday Collection. As much as I am not into Martha Stewart as a person I must admit that for couples like us she has made life affordable and doable. I wish her collection was offered elsewhere but unfortunately it isnt. You can cut through going to Kmart by going online to www.bluelight.com and ordering through the internet. It may save you some hassle.
So when I was at Super Kmart I saw the Martha Stewart Everyday Collection Ceramic Bowls. They were with matching coffee cups and plates. There are four colors as well; light mint green, pale yellow, light pastel blue and plain white. At this point, I was only in the market for the Martha Stewart Everyday Collection Ceramic Bowls so that was all I concentrated on.
The bowls looked nice and were tapered off at the bottom. My fiancé wasnt so sure about that part. He said they looked really small. I explained he might be used to seeing the huge ones that we use from 1950. They didn't seem to look like they would chip easily or break unless you dropped it on a hard floor. I felt the sturdiness and stability when I picked them up. We ended up getting a set of four, as they are sold each separately at $2.79 per bowl. I wanted to have a nice set for others if we had people over.
When I got all my goodies from the Martha Stewart Everyday Collection home, I started separating everything out. Meanwhile my fiancé had got his hands on the ceramic bowls and brought out the ruler to show me the big difference in the small, dainty bowls and the manly man bowls. Well it turns out that Martha Stewart Everyday Collection Ceramic Bowls are 6 ½ inches in diameter and only 3 inches deep with a tapering off to the bottom of a 2 ¼ inch diameter. So yes, I suppose they were a little small compared to the manly man bowls. I liked them though.
So now it has been about a week that I have had the Martha Stewart Everyday Collection Ceramic Bowls in my home. They feel sturdy and solid in thickness. The ceramic bowls are dishwasher safe and microwave safe. There isnt a warranty on them that I could see, like Martha Stewarts Everyday Glass Collections but I wasnt too worried about it.
My favorite part is that they have cut down on my eating habits. My fiancé will use his manly man bowls as he says and I eat one bowl of cereal from the Martha Stewart Everyday Collection Ceramic Bowls. I think it helps me from overeating. I especially like them for ice cream because even though it isnt a lot in the bowl, it looks full and my mind and belly are both happy.
The Martha Stewart Everyday Collection Ceramic Bowls are very affordable at $2.79 a piece. I liked all the colors that they came in even though I stuck with plain white. The bowls are nicely manufactured and have a certain durability to them unlike other ceramic ware that I have used or picked up at the store.
I have found many uses for the Martha Stewart Everyday Collection Ceramic Bowls. After all they are bowls! My fiancé may not be crazy about the portioning but we both could use a slim down so I am pleased.
I highly recommend that you go check out the Martha Stewart Everyday Collection itself and while you are there check out the ceramic bowls. Simple, plain, and elegant is what I like to think of them. Just my style!
