Martha Stewart Victorian Furniture "rip- off" literally! (Reply to this comment)
by jabez1410
I purchased this very expensive furniture 2 years ago. After the first year, we noticed the chairs were starting to rust! We called K-mart and they said we were the only ones with this problem, but did replace the set. We purposely took extra special care of this new set by using covers and bringing them in during the fall and winter months. Today I went to lay on the chaise lounge and when I got up I noticed the cushion had ripped where my foot was! I called K-mart and once again they said they have never had any problems with this set. I mentioned several places on the web with many complaints over the same exact things I was complaining about. They said they have a 90 day warranty and I needed to go back to the manufacturer. However, they were not sure who exactly it was. I paid over $600. for this set and I am very frustrated to think how bad I got ripped off! I would like to see a class action suit against them. How much more care was I supposed to give this outdoor furniture? Don't buy this stuff unless you want disposable furniture!

I was interested in seeing your photos of the damaged Martha Stewart Victoria collection patio furniture. I am concerned about the quality and would be interest in seeing the damage that has occurred to your furniture.

Martha Stewart Victorian Furniture Rusted within 9 months of purchase (Reply to this comment)

I am so glad to hear that so many others have been having such trouble with this furniture. I have written FIVE letters to K-mart regarding the rusted condition of this furniture WITHIN 9 MONTHS of PURCHASE. JRA furniture replaced some of it, but they have been promising 5 new chairs SINCE LAST JULY, 2003. They last promised by the end of January and not surprisingly, we have yet to receive. We have tears in the upholstery, which we store every night. I can imagine the shape they would be in if we left outside! We bought the entire collection which sells in South Florida for about $1000.00. JRA advised to use car wax to help with the rusting, but it is too late. I have not set foot in a K-mart for almost two years due to their empty promises and unwillingness to replace this furniture. I have pictures of this furniture if anyone wants them.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with this patio set. I'm sorry to learn that it hasn't held up as expected.

I've got another Martha Stewart patio set - the Montecito collection. This set doesn't have cushions. The seats are a mesh fabric. Our set has been outside now for three seasons, and it looks like new! I've found it to be of very good quality. And yet, I do believe I read another review that mentioned problems with their MS patio furniture. Go figure :)

Welcome to Epinions! Have fun and enjoy the site.
