Pros:It's a Martin. Great quality and sound. Easy to play.
Cons:None.
The Bottom Line: If you are reading this review, go out and buy a Martin, or at least pick one up and strum it for a while. It will impress you.
Well I have had my Martin DM for about a month now and I am really happy with my purchase. The sound you get out of this guitar, even though it is a cheaper model, is incredible. Saying that, lets get to the review.
What You Get!
What you get when buying any Martin guitar is high quality craftsmanship.
1 Martin DM acoustic guitar
1 Martin D-series case
Although some places do not include the case in the price, I recommend getting the Martin D-series case. It is specially made to perfectly fit your guitar and is a really nice case.
Playability
The thing I like the most about this guitar, aside from the crisp sounds, is the ease in playing it. It takes minimal pressure from your fingers to fret the fretboard. The strings are very close to the fretboard, yet you don't get and buzzing or other undesirable sounds. I started playing on my brothers lower quality guitar, and this one is just so much easier to play, especially when learning to play bar chords.
Craftsmanship
The Martin DM has a solid spruse top with laminated mahogany sides and back. Having the laminated sides and back makes it a little stronger when it comes to getting bumped. Nicks will be harder to put in the finish because it is laminated wood, not solid wood. The back is a two piece back. The fingerboard and bridge are both made of rosewood. The finish is a smooth satin finish, not glossy. I don't know if there are special Martin elves over there but the way they put these guitars together, you just get great sounds coming from it.
What I Think!
Well unless you weren't paying attention while you were reading you can tell I think this is a awesome guitar. I am impressed by my Martin. This guitar is great for beginners that would like to spend a little more to get a high quality guitar. It is easy to play and the sound is great. I would recommend any Martin guitar to anyone.
