bilbopooh's Full Review: Dr. Seuss - Marvin K. Mooney, Will You Please Go N...
I always loved this bedtime story, even if I didn't always love bedtime. Like Marvin, I was willing to do just about anything to drag the process out, and one of those things was to have my parents read this book.
Marvin K. Mooney is a little boy...er, dog...er, SOMETHING who does not want to go to bed. Who can blame him? But Mrs. Mooney isn't about to let her son win the battle. She is persistent as she insists that she does not care how he gets there, she just wants Marvin to go to bed.
By foot, cow, skates, or skis, or hat...
But Marvin simply won't do that.
Neither old blue shoe nor bike
Strikes him as something he would like.
Mention of Crunk-Car or stilt
Makes poor little Marvin wilt.
He's not persuaded by Crunk-Car.
Each suggestion is more bizarre.
How long must Mrs. Mooney holler?
Should she just get that kid a collar?
When this book's last page is read,
Two youngsters will be snug in bed!
Sorry about that, once in a while I can't resist. This adorable story will stimulate your child's imagination for dreamland while convincing him that he needs to go to bed to get there. A great bedtime story for any child reluctant to face those fluffy pillows.
Illus. in full color. In merry verse and illustrations, Marvin is asked to leave by every conceivable means of transportation.More at Buy.com Marketplaces
