Pros: Excellent, fairly priced system.
As a teenager I went through some very rough episodes with break outs, I always had an artistic bent and I became an expert at camouflage. It also kept me a very "good" girl because I wouldn't let anyone near my face eliminating most make out episodes thus keeping me at quite the arms length from many suitors. Of course, this was in the days when kissing on the first (2nd or 3rd date) meant you were fast and Luci and Desi had separate bed so it wasn't all that big a problem. It was a while before I realized good basic skin care would eliminate to some extent the need for all the camo make up I was doing.
This review is about the Blemish Control Toner at 13.00 for 6.5 oz.. I did use Activ Phelytl soap at one time but found this milder and kinder to my skin. I also invested in the Acne Control gel for $7.
acne treatment gel ($7)
I discovered Mary Kay cosmetics many years ago. They have a wonderful selection of skin care options geared towards whatever skin problem you had. They also had an excellent selection of make up. If you read my reviews you know I feel I owe my lack of wrinkles (for my age) to the Mary Kay Extra Emollient Night Cream.
A little information on the product from the site.
In the U.S. in 2005, Mary Kay was the best-selling brand in the combined categories of facial skin care and color cosmetics, as well as the best-selling brand in the individual categories of facial skin care, lip color, which includes lipstick, lip gloss and lip liner and eye makeup remover. Based on the most recent industry sales data according to Kline & Company, Inc.'s "Cosmetics & Toiletries USA 2005" study. They have an excellent long term reputation. They also support many wonderful programs that help women. Created in 1996 by Mary Kay Ash, this nonprofit foundation proudly supports research dedicated to finding cures to cancers that affect women and programs committed to ending violence.
From age-fighting skin care to microdermabrasion to super-hydrating moisturizers, Mary Kay has products that will work for any skin type. They also have an at home party program where you can have a visit or party with a consultant and they will let you test and try on the products. They will educate you on skin care and will steer you in the right direction for your needs. One of my best friends is a Mary Kay National so I always hear about the latest great products and she keeps my skin tuned up.
My skin was always oily which in the long run worked out well since I wrinkled less. For me the 4 step method for Oily or Blemish Control Skin was what I needed but everyone is different. You have to let your consultant be your personal guide. If you don't have one, go to www/Marykay.com and there will be a spot at the top of the page where you can click to find one near you.
So my products were:
Deep Cleanser 3
Clarifying Mask 3
Blemish Control Toner 3*
Oil Control Lotion 3
According to the site the Mary Kay Blemish Control Toner removes oils and impurities from your skin, while it medicates the irritating little red pustules that youre trying to get rid of. In case you have a fragrance sensitivity most of Mary Kays facial skin care products are fragrance free. This one included. The Blemish Control Toner is in a clear bottle with a pink top, pink being the Mary Kay signature color. The toner has a mildly astringent/alcohol like scent but is fragrance free.
