Pros: Removes makeup quickly and easily (even off of kids!), pretty bottle
Cons: Greasy, irritating to eyes, expensive, hard to acquire (must buy through Mary Kay agent)
The Bottom Line: Unless you happen to be looking for an expensive, greasy, eye-irritating makeup remover, pass on this one. It works, but it's not the only one!

| twenty3skidoo's Full Review: Mary Kay Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover |
I am a very lazy person. Well, in as much as a mother of two can be lazy! By the time I get my kids in bed and everything ready to go for the next day, the last thing I want to do is spend any extra time whatsoever taking off my makeup. But if I don't remove my eye makeup, my sensitive eyes end up all icky and infected and irritated. Yuck! So to compromise, I have started saving time by showering at night (also the only way to shower without pint-sized spectators!). Well, unfortunately, my beloved Clearasil Face Wash does not do the greatest job of removing my mascara. So it's either go to bed looking like the bride of Frankenstein or pause for 30 seconds to take off my eye makeup. I usually use Neutrogena makeup removing wipes for this purpose, but when my good friend started selling Mary Kay, I decided to give this product a shot.
1. What is it?
This is a high-end (read: expensive) eye makeup remover that is intended to remove all traces of mascara (even water-proof) and liner and shadow without leaving your skin greasy or irritating your eyes. It comes in a lavender-tinted clear bottle with the Mary Kay logo on the front, with a white screw-off lid. When you remove the lid, there is a stopper in place with a tiny hole in the middle that allows you to easily control the amount you are using.
The solution in the bottle is clear, unscented, and visibly separated into two layers. (Think of oil and vinegar salad dressing) It costs 14.00 for a 3.75 oz. bottle.
2. How do you use it?
To use this product, you must first shake the bottle to combine the separated solution. Then you simply remove the lid and apply it onto a cotton pad. Wipe gently over your eyes a few times, and PRESTO, no makeup!
3. Does it work?
Absolutely. This product removes all traces of eye makeup, even water-proof mascara, with only a couple of swipes of a moistened cotton ball! I have also used it to remove lipstick and mascara from my daughter's face. She is 3, and constantly tries to get into my makeup. Occasionally, she succeeds, and I cannot say how valuable this product is for removing the layers and layers of makeup she applies to herself at every opportunity! This has saved me lots of scrubbing in the tub.
4. Does it leave your skin greasy?
Unfortunately, I have to say yes. While this product claims to be oil-free, every time I use it, I look and feel like I have an oil slick on my face. My skin is shiny and slippery, and seems to be exactly the same as with makeup remover that does contain oil.
5. Does it irritate your eyes?
Definitely. In fact, I have stopped using this product. I still have it on hand in case I run out of my old standby, the Neutrogena makeup removing wipes, but I don't use it anymore. When I use this product, it leaves my eyes stinging and I have to blink a lot. It seems to temporarily blur my vision and irritate my eyes.
If you have sensitive skin/eyes or wear contacts, I would strongly urge against using this product!
Ingredients:
water, cyclotetrasiloxane, isohexadecane, hexylene glycol, sodium chloride, benzyl alcohol, imidazolidinyl urea, potassium phosphate, dipotassium phosphate, disodium edta, poloxamer 184, benzalkonium chloride.
6. Will I be buying this again?
No. For multiple reasons. First, it leaves my skin greasy. Second, it hurts my eyes. Third, being lazy, as previously mentioned in this article, I do not like having to go to so much trouble to acquire beauty products. One thing I really loved that I tried from Mary Kay was the oil-free hydrating gel. While it, too, was expensive, when I ran out and contacted my Mary Kay agent, she didn't have any on hand and wasn't planning to make an order for a while. I really like the convenience of Wal-Mart shopping. It is nice to know that when I run out of Neutrogena makeup removing wipes, I can go down the road to Wal-Mart and for about 7 dollars, have the product I want in 10 minutes instead of 10 days. This isn't the only product out there that will banish my raccoon eyes, so why bother?
