Mary Kay's Oil Mattifier is an excellent product. As a sufferer of oily skin for nearly ten years (yikes, did I actually write that!?!?), I have been desperate to prevent that noon shine that appears on my forehead and provides enough reflection to land a Boeing in a Hurricane. I used to cake my face with powders and heavy foundations, but after a few hours those too failed me. This product has not. It goes under your foundation, on top of your moisturizer, and provides a nice, matte surface on which to apply foundation. I've found that my T-zone stays dry for the whole day, and I don't have to touch up my makeup because it actually stays on longer when used in conjunction with the oil mattifier.
One of the things I like most about the product, besides the great results, is that the packaging allows very easy dispensing of the product (which prevents needless waste). It goes on as easily as a moisturizer. Smoothing foundation on top of the mattifier can prove to be tricky at first (especially since Mary Kay's Medium Coverage Foundation also contains oil-absorbing ingredients, which make it harder to spread). However, the results are worth the bit of extra effort.
The one downside to the product is that it can make skin dry out quicker than it would normally do. I tried an experiment and used the mattifier on my whole face - my cheeks actually flaked a little. Furthermore, if you use too much in one spot, your skin will become pretty dry. The key is moderation in application.
Overall, this product is a great concept with nearly perfect execution. I love it and would highly recommend it to anyone who too has that noon-face shine.
