palmprincess's Full Review: Mary Kay Oil Mattifier
There are things that we all love and hate about ourselves, wouldn't you agree?
One of the biggest things that I hated about myself was that in every picture of me, as well as every time I looked in the mirror, the light was reflecting off of my face, due to the fact that it was really oily.
A few years ago, it became one of my goals in life to end this shine on my face. Nothing is more maddening that making up your face for a wedding or nice evening out and having that makeup job disappear not even 10 minutes later. And let's not even talk about work.
After doing research, and being shocked at the prices of some mattifiers, I decided to try Neutrogena's version. It didn't work, long story short. I'm writing a review of that later.
My search came to an end last week, at a Mary Kay party held by friends of mine. Before I went, I told myself I wasn't going to buy anything and that they wouldn't suffer if they didn't get any of my money.
Well, that changed when I saw this product on the table. After the MK rep let me test some out, I was hooked! The texture, it was perfect!! It was a light, pleasantly-scented lotion. Too bad I didn't think of checking into it earlier.
Now, you wouldn't be reading this review unless you were interested in the product, right?
What can I tell you about it? Well, as I mentioned, the texture is very light. A little bit truly goes a long way. When it's on, it makes your skin soft like velvet or finely-milled powder. It lasts up to 8 hours. You can re-apply it right over your makeup. The tube is 6 fl. ounces, so you can discreetly tuck it into your purse or makeup bag.
If you've been battling oily and/or combination skin, I highly recommend this. It's suitable for women of all ages.
Also, my skin can tend to be on the the sensitive side, but it hasn't bothered it at all.
I've only encountered two drawbacks, but they can be overcome:
1) The price. It's $15, plus tax. However, after I bought my first tube, I went to EBay and snagged a tube for $9 ($7.50 shipping).
2) If you accidentally put on a bit too much in one spot, it leaves a white, powdery streak. However, a light touch with water is all that it takes to remove the excess.
All in all, a fantastic product, well worth the price.
