Pros: Fragrance is lovely, tightens my skin, makes it feel smooth.
Cons: Lid needs to be washed periodically. Not sold in stores. Evil website.
The Bottom Line: Velocity really wants and wants badly to be a product for young ladies.

| MagickCat's Full Review: Mary Kays Velocity Facial Cleanser |
Velocity it's fresh, it's fun, it's fast; it's a Mary Kay product targeted at my age group.
How degrading.
No I'm not a preteen or teenager, but I am a 20 year old and judging by the Velocity website and other reviews, yeah I fit within the demographic range. It's nice to know your money is wanted but not everyone is or wants to be part of teen girl squad.
Wow Mary Kay your site uses the word "funky" a lot and has a quiz (I mean quizze!) with three possible outcomes that are like so true. I so totally fit "rationally conservative", it's like you so know me and I so want to totally buy your stuff!!!
I received Velocity as a gift from my Mother. Otherwise I could have never gotten over the website.(Thanks Mom!)
I hate the image but I love the product.
Ac-Scent-uating the Positive
Velocity's scent is very nice. Almost citrus in nature, yet I can't find any orange or lime extracts in the ingredients. It is not over powering and just when I think of a word to describe the fragrance another little something comes out to tickle my nostrils.
This smell is very feminine and fresh. Not overly flowery and thankfully without the nauseating reek of baby powder which has so come to embody femaleness.
Like another reviewer mentioned it does smell like clinique's happy, but to me it is much fainter.
Surprisingly the fragrance has failed to aggravate my skin or trigger out breaks of acne. However I suspect for people with highly sensitive skin that adding scent to a facial cleanser is just asking for trouble.
After you have rinsed it away, Velocity's scent is still with you but it is not very noticeable. I like that every once in a while you get a whiff of this fragrance but I doubt anyone else would be able to smell it. Unless they came right up to your face and smelled you like my Mother would. (If anyone else did that I would pop them one.)
I enjoy this scent so much I am considering buying Velocity Eau de Parfum.
The Stuff
Mary Kay's Velocity comes in a 5 FL. OZ./147 ml tube. Think of a tube of suntan lotion and you've got it. The packaging and graphics are nothing special, just a few shades of orange and a simple logo. Not anything you would keep after it is empty, though the graphics do go well with the youthful image that this line of cosmetics is trying to promote. I like how effortlessly the semi-transparent orange lid (and also base) snaps closed.
Velocity sits on it's top so that gravity does the work of keeping the facial cleanser ready for use. Watch out this stuff comes out quick!
Depending on how full the tube is you squeeze a little bit out or let a little bit run onto the palm of your hand. Velocity facial cleanser is a clear gel with a rosy hue.
First I rinse my face with water, then apply a little Velocity and work it into my skin. It foams nicely but not so much that I am getting bubbles up my nose. Velocity washes off without effort.
There is also a very fine grit in this facial cleanser which is not at all harsh against my oily skin. It is a pleasant scrub and feels like you are washing the grim away.
Velocity leaves my skin firmer and softer to the touch.
Love this Stuff
I do have oily and acne prone skin Velocity hasn't given me any troubles. It makes my face feel cleaner and less oily, but hasn't done anything to really help or hinder my acne. That is not the purpose of this product so I cannot fault it for that.
I love to use this first thing in the morning; the smell is so invigorating and wakes me up faster than water alone. To tell you the truth I use this as a relaxation therapy and facial cleanser. Velocity's cooling sensation makes me feel as though I am washing my stress away.
While I'm not a member of super teen girl squad, I do like Velocity.
Mary Kay's website is a super pain in the teen rear end to navigate, it took me 10 minutes to find anything about this product. I finally found site pages about the Velocity cosmetic line and thought I would save time for anyone else curious enough to look. Don't forget to take the "quizze" and find out what car stereotype you are:
