samarayum's Full Review: 101 Bally Slots for Windows, Mac
Bally 101 Slots contains many of the same games seen in most large casinos. I am from Connecticut so I am familiar with the slot machines of Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Casinos.
This game contains the actual games! Right down to their payouts and bonus rounds. For a one-time investment it gives you hours of the fun and excitement of the casino without making the trip and risking your own money. Obviously there is no "one-armed" trigger on your computer. By simply hitting the spin button, the machine works it's magic.
Certain games allow the user to use more then one line and different bets for each line. For example some games you can play up to nine lines with a bet of five coins on each line.
I am quite partial to the nickel denomination machines and get more enjoyment of trying to get to the bonus levels then the actual games themselves. Not being monetarily stable enough to go to the actual casino this gets the urge out of my system while keeping my money where it should stay, in the bank. The game contains video and reel slot machines. Any "money" won automatically goes into your bank thus adding more to your money!
Some of the more popular nickel type games include: Soap Opera, 99 Bottles of Beer, Pearly Gates, and Blondie Double Feature.
For the more adventurous there are also the quarter type machines such as a vast array of Betty Boop, Krazy Kops, and Blazing 7’s. There are actually 101 games which I will list at the end of this review.
Once installed the game asks for your name and gives you a set “bank.” Once your bank runs out it automatically ups you to more money. Each game can be played in any denomination ranging from nickels to five-dollar bets. You can also “rig” the game to have higher then normal payouts. Another feature is to “hot list” or put all your favorite machines in a special list so you don’t have to hunt through them all when you want to play your favorite game.
The display on the computer looks exactly like a real slot machine, even has a light that blinks when you win the jackpot. Not to mention real casino sounds!
The game is very easy to install and requires Windows 95/98/NT/2000/ME/XP and 48 MB Hard Disk Space. Also can be run on a Macintosh system. Once installed you also will need to have to use the CD to access the game.
The game is rated “T” for teen because it is a gambling game.
For a mere twenty dollar investment the game will be forever yours and one can have slots at their disposable anytime they want to play. Endless fun and not your money which is always a good thing!
