My hairdesser used this product on me last time I got a cut, and she made my hair look nice, so I was compelled to buy it.
First few days I just couldnt get it to work, I applied it with the multi holed nozzle, directy to my scalp, and it didn't seem to do anything. I kind of gave up on it and threw it in my big basket of products I
never use.
Then I decided to try it again, being I paid 10 dollars for it, and this time I worked it with my fingers through my hair about an inch and a half from my scalp, then blow dried, adding a bit more where I needed an bit more lift, and it worked great.
I use it every day now. I have never tried any other root lifters, so I can't say if it's any better than anything else, but if you try it, its not a bad idea to use it more like a mouse than just on your roots. It's not real sticky, and you can brush through it. I don't care for the smell, they chose to adapt that fruity smell 99% of all hair products have now. It doesn't dry the hair, and i have not had any sensitivity problems. I do plan to shop around a bit though.
