Pros: It actually works!
Cons: It doesn't work without a hair dryer.
The Bottom Line: 511 words on Matrix Amplify Root Lifter, and I still feel wordy.

This is my contribution to Sleeper54's Lean -n- mean write off. (http://www.epinions.com/content_2977669252)
The object is to write a review without all the fluff. It has to be 666 words or less. Start counting now.
My Hair
I have long, straight, thin, and fine blonde hair. It lays flat against my head most of the time or in a pony tail because it refuses to do anything else. I am leery of putting too many hair products on it, because they usually just weigh my hair down even more. I am envious of people with lift to their hair.
Introducing Matrix Amplify Root Lifter (M.A.R.L.)
M.A.R.L. comes in an 8.5 oz bottle with a strange looking nozzle on it that is about an inch long. It is designed so that you can pump it directly on the roots of your hair. M.A.R.L. has a light fruity tea fragrance that I like. The bottle claims that you can use it on dry or damp hair and that it will not weigh your hair down.
My First Experience
I never follow directions, so I pumped the M.A.R.L. on my fingertips after I washed and towel dried my hair. It ran off like water. I pumped twice more and used my fingertips to apply it to my roots at my part. I usually let my hair air dry because if I use a hair dryer my hair ends up tangly, frizzy, and full of static, and that's if I use a leave in conditioner. (sniffle)
I let my hair air dry and styled it as usual. I noticed absolutely no difference.
Second Time's a Charm
Since I had spent $10. on this miracle product, I had to try again. I washed and towel dried my hair. I applied the M.A.R.L. bravely using the nozzle and applying it directly on the roots of my hair at the part and crown of my head. I blow dried my hair paying special attention to the areas I wanted lifted. It worked! My hair seemed a little bouncier than normal and wasn't clinging to my head. It also felt very light.
What not to do
One time i tried applying this product to my dry hair like the bottle says I can do. I wouldn't recommend this as my hair turned into a big wet mess. I tried to blow dry it after that, and my hair stuck up unnaturally where i applied the M.A.R.L. and my hair felt like I had forgotten to rinse the conditioner out of it. (Not that I have ever done that of course. =)) I ended up washing it and starting over.
What I Think:
I have been waiting for a product like this for a long time. It actually adds volume that lasts all day! My only negative would be that in order to get it to work it seems that you have to use a hair dryer which causes a little frizz for me if I'm not careful.
