I use a lot of different hair products from regular conditioners to deep conditioners, from styling serums and milks to coloring and other processing. I am not biased when choosing a hair product. For instance, I may prefer a higher-priced brand conditioner but a cheaper brand styling product. I have definitely found that using all the same brand hair products has not been effective for my hair. I will try any brand no matter how cheap but I do have a limit to how much I will spend. In fact, I have found some of the cheaper brands to be more effective, surprisingly. Coloring and styling puts my hair through hell so it needs to be babied back to condition.
I have somewhat oily hair at the roots, which turns dryer toward the ends where I have about three inches of perm left. My hair reaches just below the shoulder. I have been successful keeping my hair shiny and healthy and there is one product which I know has a lot to do with it. I think choice of shampoo is an important factor in keeping healthy hair. Hair really needs to be freed of build-up from styling products and sprays so a shampoo that really CLEANS your hair is important.
Matrix Biolage Normalizing Shampoo is the product I use regularly to wash my hair. This product comes in a white and green plastic 33.8 oz bottle and I buy it from my hairdresser who charges me $12.95 per bottle. The shampoo is a thick pearly white liquid with a fruity/floral scent (that’s the best I can describe it).
Apply to wet hair and lather with a gentle massaging motion. Rinse thoroughly. Repeat if necessary.

My Experience
Because I use styling products and spray in my hair along with the coloring, I get build- up. My hair used to be dull and heavy even after washing and I have used many different brands of shampoo. I had to wash it every day for it to look even halfway healthy. Now, I wash my hair every two or three days. I only have to apply about a quarter-size amount of Matrix Biolage Normalizing Shampoo in the palm of my hand so the bottle lasts quite a while. This shampoo really lathers up and feels tingly on the scalp. I usually massage it in and leave it for a few moments before rinsing. I can practically feel the build-up wash out.
This shampoo leaves my hair feeling light and healthy, silky and extra clean. The roots are oil-free and the even though this product is for normal to oily hair, it does not dry out the ends. The roots feel lifted instead of weighed down and it leaves my hair with enough volume to make it easy to style or straighten. I often go for a couple of washes without adding conditioner or styling products to my hair just to give it a breather. When I do eventually condition and style, I don’t feel like I am adding to, rather, I feel like I am starting from scratch.
Conclusion
I have used a lot of different shampoos but this is the ONLY one that has really CLEANED my hair and taken away the build up that comes with everyday styling. I do try other shampoos once in a while but haven’t found one to compare yet. This product breathes life back into dull, unhealthy hair and makes a big difference to its condition. I would recommend it for use on anyone’s hair who regularly uses color or styling products. In fact, this is a shampoo which would compliment anybody’s hair.
