Pros: Excellent Graphics...Great Sound...Good Gameplay...Need i say more??
Cons: Game is a little short... No multiplayer support... High system requirements.
The Bottom Line: This is one of the best games I've played in quiet a while... the only drawback is that it will keep you glued to your computer for quite a while.
Well its finally here - Max Payne. The first thing I did for this review was read the lowest rated reviews here, I like to see if there are any valid gripes the anal people say about the game. After reading them all, I see there is no valid gripes, save for one - lack of multiplay. Even though they designed this story driven game from the ground up for solo play, it would of been nice to have even a little deathmatch mode to it. A few people ragged on it saying that Kingpin had done this before or they hinted that the story was nothing impressive. To those I say, Kingpin Sucked- this game doesn't and if you think Max Payne doesn't have one of the most brilliant storylines (as far as games go) in the history of gaming, then I'm guessing your probably less than 25 years old - one of those special effects makes the movie and graphics make the game kinda people. In other words, your tastes are too superficial to matter in a review.
The story is excellent, the graphics superb and the sound great. This game is not totally original I admit as far as the shoot fest goes of 3D shooters, but give credit to Remedy they spiced up an increasing dull "copycat" genre in gaming and made in interesting. This game draws you in (unless you are superficial and wouldn't know a good story if it sat on your face). The animations are smooth and the few logic puzzles in the game are common sense, so I liked that. My dislikes - there are two weird sequences in the game one your are in a nightmare and one you're on drugs and they are stupid sequences that are boring to play. My other dislike - I wish the game was longer. I completed the game in about 16 hours over 3 nights. Which btw, is not something I often do - but the story of the game had me glued to the computer. Its great fun. Two thumbs up
