Pros:Just the right size for normal kitchen tasks.
Cons:No liquid catch depression, not big enough for a whole turkey.
The Bottom Line: An average cutting board for the average family.

This is a synthetic cutting board with only one thing in mind, providing a surface to cut food with. And it does it quite well. Definitely a good buy.

One thing I like is the grip of the surface. It is textures so that your slippery foods will have a harder time slipping away from you, your knife, and your hand. The board is even easy to grab onto even when wet.
The color is mostly black with a glittery substance mixed. So it isn’t completely pitch black.

How it works.
It is a pretty simple cutting board. You place board on a table/counter. Make sure that it is flat on the table/counter. Trying to use this against the wall will be a little difficult. You put food on the cutting board, you then use knife to butcher food to your desired consistency, then serve to guests. If you have a fire you may want to expose your food to it first before serving it to guests. If you don’t have a knife then feel free to use your canines to break down the food.

Does it have odors?
No significant odors.

Is it hard on knives?
From my experience I do not see any damage or excessive wear and tear on my knives.

Is it porous?
It seems to be pretty solid, it definitely does not act like a sponge.

Is the size right?
Depends on what you are doing. For cutting vegetables, French fries, etc, then this size is perfect. Not to big and not too small. Also beef roasts/steaks are perfect for this size.
You can do a whole chicken but there is one problem, there is nothing to catch the juices that escape from a cooked/raw fowl. I recommend a bigger cutting board with a depression to catch that liquid. And only use that board for chicken and other birds.
What about turkey? Forget it, it is way too small for that.
What about for camping? It is a good size for car camping. I would recommend a smaller http://www1.epinions.com/content_188901199492 makes if you are backpacking or where space is a premium.
If you have large parties then this cutting board may be a bit too small for you if you do massive amounts of preparation.

Cleaning
Cleaning is easy for me I just throw it in the dishwasher. But when I have hand washed it I didn’t encounter any issues, other than it was work, which I like to avoid if at all possible.

Durability
It’s a cutting board so due to it’s nature is isn’t all that durable. It will get scratched up and abused like any other board. Expecting it to be pristine after appropriate usage will never happen. With that said, I have no problem with the strength/density of the material and I expect this board to have a 3-4 year life expectancy.
There is nothing so far that leads me to believe that the cutting board will splinter or break off like my wooden ones I’ve used in the past.
There is a slight warp to this cutting board. I believe this is due to me putting it in the dishwasher. The warp is very slight and does not interfere with the user.

Does it burn?
Sorry, you can’t put a match up to it and let is go. But if you expose a small part of it to a direct flame for 30 seconds it will become malleable.
