The largest distribution for a Video Home System tape abbreviated as VHS are blank and made in China, but this particular brand name was made in Korea, did you know that ?

The MAXELL VHS Videotape 3 Pack High Grade T-120 package may be 'antiquated' as many consumers now prefer DVD’s due to performance and delivery of top-notch sound and picture , but this package is still a popular item of purchase. Both are excellent sources for recording your favorite shows morning, noon and night.

The standard version is a little less clarity and might sound a bit muffled; while the High Grade is top-notch. Again the quality is most compatible with equalizing and fine-tuning your speakers and out put of your entertainment system in general.

Now on to the review of these recording tapes . . .

This MAXELL VHS Videotape 3 Pack High Grade T-120 package offers six hours times three tapes which equals 18 hours of 'space' to record anything you want. I found I strongly prefer the playback in this tape, not as good with the other T-120 tape manufacturers. These deliver the MOST clear playback when your Video Home System, the recorder & speakers are working at their optimum level.

The 'video-tape' has been around since the early 70’s, while audio tapes much earlier, the reviews about usage, storage and recording quality are quite mixed. The company MAXELL has been distributing optimum quality recording material for decades in the entertainment industry offering products like cassette recorder tapes, 8mm video recording tape for movie projectors and the accessories rather than actual components of recording devices.

The reviews on the tapes vary with some consumers complaining the tapes are bulky usually too heavy for carrying around in one’s purse, the tape looks and seems thinner but probably is my imagination and these can also melt. (Duh you’re not supposed to leave them in a glove box of a convertible in 80 degree weather peoples ! )

NEGATIVES:

The down-side of the MAXELL VHS Videotape 3 Pack High Grade T-120 is virtually none for the average watcher of video-taped material, from a play-back point of view. But for me the only down-side with this is volume adjustment and re-capturing the same volume in play-back. I guess it all depends in how you have your entertainment system set up, but I had to work with the controls between the television and the VCR in order to clearly and audibly comprehend what the characters were dialogu-ing about . . . Although ‘tape’ is NOT guaranteed to last forever, I find this brand much stronger in quality, strength, longevity and playback than

There is no difference in regards to elements like heat, moisture and daily wear because these are not meant to last forever; although stronger and made more durable and resilient both in housing and diameter of tape. Those elements mentioned will still shorten its life, but just using daily for a few weeks should not. The wheel, you know the one that glides the tape forward or in reverse neither sticks nor gets jammed, it free flows. This tape weight is far more resilient to stretching and the pegs on each side that grip the railing the conveyor belt tape loops around are honed clean with no rough edges that can tear into a tape or just merely snap it.

POSITIVES:

The inexpensive price and superior high-grade sound reproduction the MAXELL VHS Videotape 3 Pack High Grade T-120 delivers is one reason I get a few packages of three while they are on sale. Maxell is more expensive but worth it. I appreciate the fact that this company binds three tapes together at one price instead of charging too much for individual packaged tapes. The product manufacturers and distributors and satisfied customers claim quality is of ultimate performance . . . And I do agree.

This tape can be recorded over more times than the others and still deliver best to better play-back even if your VHS recorder needs the heads cleaned. The MAXELL VHS Videotape 3 Pack High Grade T-120 tape is that re-useable. There is still the chance of ‘lesser visibility of picture & some sound reproduction’ as tape gets older and less used but viewed and run through the machine more often. TDK version, there are also three “Play Mode” settings for this brand that indicate hours of viewing time available on these tapes to accommodate most VCR settings.

SP= Standard Play offering 2 hours viewing space.

LP= Long Play offering 4 hours viewing space

EP/SLP= Standard Long Play offering 6 hours viewing space

So I am recommending this product to you and hope you do not let your good ole vintage VHS tapes stay shelved. Take them down, out of their cases, pull em out, dust them off and let them wind through your recorder. You can still be surprised. At $5.oo per package of three tapes in most dollar or convenient even record stores, one package of MAXELL VHS Videotape 3 Pack High Grade T-120 is lying around waiting to be slid into a comfortable VCR . . .

Unfortunately this product does not offer any warranty ! None ! Nada . . . also and not unlike the other brand name tape distributers, the entire tape instructions and performance and settings is repeated in both Canadian French and Latin American Spanish (from Panama City) on the back cover, how convenient !
