| tim_collins's Full Review: Maxfli A-10 Blade Iron Set Steel Shafts |
I have now come down to a handicap of 11 and my old package set irons just weren't up to the task any more. I went to the golf store and bought myself a customized set of the Maxfli A10's.
The next day I played in the competition with them and I was very pleased.
The first thing I noticed was with the wedges as I was warming up on the practice green.
They have a nice and soft feeling as you hit them. This is because the clubs aren't made from steel. They are a mix of nickel and chrome which is a strong as steel but feels softer. I found it great and I was able to put more spin on the ball.
Then as I played through my round I became even more pleased with my purchase.
All the irons throughout the set had that really nice soft feeling as I hit them.
The most notable difference with the A10's compared to my old set was the difference in ball flight. It was so much more penetrating especially with the short irons. This is so mainly because of the stronger lofts on the clubs and because of the great shafts they have.
The shafts are True Temper Dynamic Gold S300 Stiff Flex with Sensicore technology thats reduces jarring on mis hits.
These shafts are the top of the range steel shafts and I am getting the benefits.
The only thing that takes a bit of getting used to is that the clubs have no offset and the heads are quite small which makes them a set of irons for better players.
Overall just a brilliant set of irons. You can't go wrong buying these.
