Pros: Oil-free, has SPF, convenient and compact packaging, easy to dispense
Cons: Doesn't seem oil-free, doesn't wear all day, coverage is so-so, must shake well before using
The Bottom Line: This is not one of Maybelline's better products and I won't be using it again.

I recently had to shop for a new foundation shade since I've been tanning. It's hard to find the right shade to begin with - but there are just too many choices in the drugstore. My skin tans a brown/orange shade, but my skin in its natural paleness has pink tones. So it's hard to find the right foundation without being too pink, too orange or too brown.
I was immediately attracted to the foundations that were long-wearing. I'm afraid to try Revlon's ColorStay foundation again, so I steared clear of that one. I didn't see any other types that weren't just powder foundations, so I started to look for foundations that were the right shade. After looking through many brands and colors, I found Maybelline's EverFresh. I was leery of this product due to some other not-so-favorable reviews here on Epinions. But it seemed to be the shade I was looking for. It was also on sale for $5.49, plus there was an additional $2 off that price with an in-store coupon - so my final price was $3.49. I decided to give it a try.
Product Details:
EverFresh is a liquid foundation that comes in a flat but rounded, clear and silver plastic tube with a plastic, silver screw-on cap. This packaging is compact and convenient, and I like the fact that it's not glass. There is 1.3 fl. oz. of foundation in each tube. This product comes in just the 1.3 oz. size.
EverFresh contains SPF 14 sunscreen and is oil-free.
The EverFresh line includes the foundation, pressed powder and concealer.
EverFresh comes in the following shades, all of which can be seen at Maybelline.com:
*Ivory
*Buff
*Nude
*Soft Cameo
*Natural Beige
*Golden
*Sand

My Experience:
I didn't read the directions on the back of the tube before I squeezed out my first bit of foundation. And what I got was VERY runny foundation. It then occurred to me to shake the foundation before opening. So I shook the tube and then squeezed some more foundation out - and that time I got a much better consistency. So if you try this foundation, please remember to shake well first!
The first few times I used this product, I noticed a slight smell when dispensing the product, but now I don't notice it anymore. It is a slight plastic smell (I used to work for a plastics manufacturer, so I'm familiar with that early-manufacturing-stage smell!) - and Maybelline doesn't try to cover it up with fragrance, although they probably should. The smell does not last long at all once you apply it to your face, fortunately!
For about the past year or so, I've been using Cover Girl AquaSmooth foundation, which is thicker than EverFresh - so it took me a day or so to get used to this liquid foundation.
Application of EverFresh is easy. Just squeeze some out onto your fingers and blend. The coverage is so-so. I would classify it as medium coverage - and I don't think it does that great of a job of covering flaws.
Within one hour of applying this oil-free foundation, I had a very oily nose, despite using powder over it. I am used to this, but the oil breakthrough seems to happen faster while using the EverFresh - luckily, I carry my powder with me at all times so I can touch up.
The wear of EverFresh isn't that great - Maybelline claims 8 hours of wear - but I'm not finding this to be true. I'd say 6 hours for me at the maximum, without doing much of anything at all to make it wear off faster.
The bright side of this product is that it does not streak or turn color - the color stays true.
I also got my first zit in almost a year while using this product. Hmmm...might not be EverFresh's fault, since it had been quite a while since I got a zit. But I also want to mention that it could be EverFresh's fault!
This product doesn't do much better with its sister EverFresh Pressed Powder (which I will review at a later date) versus a different brand of powder.
All In All:
All in all, I'm not impressed with EverFresh. It seems to me to be no better than other foundations - even the non-long-wearing foundations. It may be about the same as other long-wearing foundations, but it's not better, from my experience.
I am not going to return this product to the store even though I should. The color is perfect for me and I don't want to lose that! I also don't have the energy right now to shop and try out a new foundation in the same shade - it was stressful when I did it a few weeks ago, and I'm not doing it again for awhile. I will go back to AquaSmooth when my tan fades or when I decide to stop tanning. The reason I didn't go for the AquaSmooth in a darker shade this time is because their products are sealed more tightly and it's hard to test them in the store.
Price and Purchasing Information:
I found my EverFresh foundation on sale at my local CVS drugstore for $5.49, but as I stated earlier in this review, it is normally $7.49. I got another $2 off this product, so I paid $3.49. I'm glad I didn't pay full price!
You can find EverFresh in nearly every drugstore, as well as Wal*Mart and K-Mart.
