I originally bought this product to keep in my purse for those little emergencies, you know the ones where you look in the mirror and you notice that your skin looks kind of blah.. I figured this would be a good alternative to a liquid foundation because it would not come opened and spill all over my purse and because it seemed as if it would be perfect for touching up. I was correct on both accounts.
After the initial container for my purse how ever I found that I liked it so much that I bought an extra one for the bathroom. I am a big fan of liquid foundation. I like the way it evens out the skin. But I am a SAHM who runs an in home day care and I don’t feel that I need to wear a lot of make up most days. I have found that this sticks works wonderfully for those days that I don’t need or want to apply make up all over my face but just want to cover up my imperfections. I just dab it where I think I need it and blend it is that simple.
On special occasions or occasions when I want to look especially nice I like to use this as a cover up stick over top of my regular make up. I find that it is much easier to apply and blend than traditional cover sticks.
I have also in a pinch used this as an all over face make up and it worked just fine. All in I have used this product in every way that the advertisements claim that you can, and I have been very pleased with the results.
This product goes on nice and creamy and blends very nicely into your skin, it also blends well with my other foundation. Since it has a creamy consistency I find that it works well with my skin. I have what I would call regular skin and I am in my 30’s. After the product is blended it tends to look more like a powder which I think is wonderful. I don’t know if the product would work as well for teenagers and those who are proned to acne because it does go on very creamy. As opposed to the cover all sticks that are very hard and powdery. It also would provide an even blemish cover but probably would not cover as well as a cover stick it doesn’t have that kind of thickness, so if you are trying to cover up a lot of redish blemishes this may not be the best choice.
This makeup like most other foundations washes off easily with soap.
This make up comes in 12 different shades and works well of course with the regular Maybeline foundations.
This product costs about $5.99 per stick and I have found that it is worth every penny it seems to last a bit longer than regular foundation. I bought one before Christmas and it still has plenty left on it.
So if you are looking for a light coverage cover stick, a concealer, or even a foundation you will not be disappointed with this product. I have used it for all of the above. For a regular all over foundation I do still prefer a regular liquid foundation, but this is the best product I have ever found for touch ups. It goes on easy, blends well and provides a very nice even coverage.
