My slender pink pal, Maybelline Great Lash Washable Mascara, has been a must have in my cosmetic carrier for as long as I can remember. Yes, I have strayed & tried many numerous brands, types, colors, & different shaped wands/mascaras over the years, but I keep coming back to the tried & true! Only recently did I notice that they changed the name from Great Lash to add the washable to it. Wonder how long it's been that way & I didn't notice?
Maybelline Great Lash Washable Mascara has always out performed any other brand I have tried for the things I find essential in a mascara product. First let's talk about the color. The color of this mascara I use is very black, which is among 5 color choices available others of which include: soft black, royal blue, dark brown, & brownish black.
This mascara is the deepest shade of striking black that perfectly accentuates my eyes. Most other mascara products that label their products as black this or that, never are a rich, deep color that brings out my eyes the way Maybelline Great Lash Washable Mascara does. Others are always too light, too pale, or barely make a visible difference.
The type of mascara I prefer is the type that can be washed off with ease. I detest waterproof mascaras, because the types I have tried are really waterproof & even with soap or a cosmetic cleanser I have had problems removing it at night. Maybelline Great Lash Washable Mascara is easy to take off at the end of the day with soap, baby oil, a cosmetic cleanser & anything I have tried. I don't have to worry about my eyes getting irritated from my attempting to scrub it off, which I have literally had to do with other products.
Another thing I look for is how harsh the components of the mascara are. When applying if I am loosing lash after lash, that product is a no go! If I am loosing lashes upon removal, the same thing, I never purchase the product again. Maybelline Great Lash Washable Mascara has always been kind to my eye lashes. I don't have to worry about this product drying out my lashes or making them brittle where they are falling out or breaking off. I feel this product is balanced with good moisturizers for my eye lashes.
The application of the mascara I choose also has to glide on very easily and not clump on on my lashes or on the mascara wand. I hate the types that you spend more time trying to get a clean swipe of smooth mascara on the brush for application then you do applying it. I tend to use my mascara for a long time, & even after a good 2 months this mascara doesn't clump up, doesn't dry out, & never irritates my eyes.
I know they recommend you don't use eye products quite as long as I am sure I use mine (because of the bacteria that forms every time the wand is exposed to air or your eye and in & out of the bottle), but this is another reason why I love Maybelline Great Lash Washable Mascara. Never an eye irritation!
I have decided I like the straight wands over those that are curved. I can get better coverage of both my upper & lower lashes with this type of mascara wand, one which the Maybelline Great Lash Washable Mascara has. Another wonderful thing about this product is whether you use one coat or two, it performs wonderfully! Usually I do only use one coat, that is all that is really needed for great looking eyes & one coat thickens & lengthens my lashes beautifully.
But every now & again, when I really want to look all vamped up for a night out, I will double coat. Other brands I have used become real messy trying to re-apply, getting all clumped up, lashes stuck together, a real mess. Not with Maybelline Great Lash Washable Mascara. With one coat or two, my lashes are coated evenly, separately, & smoothly.
Finally, the thing that really makes this mascara stand out is the fact that unless I rub my eye pretty hard, (having an itch or something), it doesn't streak or smudge under my eyes. I have used this with various foundations & moisturizers, & nothing pulls the color from my lashes to smear on my face.
I wouldn't even dare attempt to use many products on my bottom lashes, because within an hour I'd have black shadows or actual streaks. With Maybelline Great Lash Washable Mascara I know I can be confident & not wonder if during my busy day I look a wreck. Even under hot weather conditions & sweat, no problem.
The quality of this product in my view is unequaled. One of the fab bonuses (like what else could this wonderful product have to offer), the price. This mascara has always been one of the best priced mascaras of any brand! Some are cheaper, but ah ha, take a closer look at the ounces of the different products the next time you buy. The Maybelline Great Lash Washable Mascara is one of, if not the #1 product for the most ounces for your money. You can't go wrong, best value, quality, performance, eye friendly, it's all there!
So yes, I have cheated & been mistreated, but when I come back to Maybelline Great Lash Washable Mascara, I know I will be loved :*)
