Pros: Fairly lengthening, no fragrance, not tested on animals
Cons: Clumps! No full or thick lashes, brittle lashes when dried, hard to remove, slow drying...
The Bottom Line: I didn't exactly enjoy using this mascara for quite a few reasons and I am continuing my search for my perfect mascara.

| cheekypig's Full Review: Maybelline Lash Stylist Mascara |
Still in search for "The One" mascara and hearing about their unique comb brush (which is quite neat, actually), I just knew I had to buy it - and with the fair amount of rave reviews about this unique mascara...but when I tried it, I was not very impressed.
The Product:
Maybelline Lash Stylist comes in a small range of colors; soft black, very black and brownish black. You can also choose between the washable formula or waterproof one.
I personally chose the (very black) waterproof one, so that I don't get panda eyes if I get caught in the rain, or start crying...
It comes in a small, rubber-like, black tube that has .22 oz of mascara in it. The waterproof formula has blue writing on the tube, where as the washable formula is just written in white.
On the site, it states that it is fragrance free, and to me, is very true! I can't detect any sort of smell, which is great, as I have a pretty sensitive eye area. It also says that it: features teeth designed to style lashes and give a sculpted, 65% lift, and: thickens and gives lashes a unique new kind of separation.
The brush is very neat, but I wouldn't exactly call it a brush. It is basically a small comb with VERY little teeth spaced evenly, with two rows of teeth, formed in a V shape.
The texture of the mascara is neither runny or thick, just an adequate formula, but unfortunately, on the small comb-like brush, you can see little clumps and blobs spread around on it. Maybe I got a bad tube, I don't know, but it wasn't very pleasing seeing clumps on this brush.
Maybelline Lash Stylist is available at most drug stores and also available at stores, too. It doesn't cost a lot, around $6 or so.

My experience:
After purchasing this mascara, I got home and was very eager to try it out. I twisted the black cap off the round tube and took a close look at the brush. Yes, there were clumps on it and I (tried) removing it with a tissue. But once I put it on, there were still lots of clumps on my lashes. I tried removing them with the unique comb brush, but this just introduced more clumps and globs. Whichever way or position I tried to apply this mascara, I could never get it to be clump-free!
This mascara is not good if you're NOT in a hurry and you just want to swipe on, because you really need to be patient to see fairly good results. But unfortunately, I don't really like to spend a good 5-10 minutes just applying mascara to my lashes.
I found out that after A LOT of patience and time, I could achieve some long (but clumpy) lashes. Nothing else. They were quite noticeable though, but I just couldn't stand putting on this mascara for over 5 minutes, having clumps and globs in different places on my lashes.
I also noticed that when this mascara dried up, my lashes were left feeling so hard, brittle and extremely uncomfortable for my quite sensitive eyes. So, I tried removing this mascara with my make-up wipes. Unfortunately, Lash Stylist is extremely hard to get off! You really have to tug hard and wipe (so much your eye starts to hurt!) to get a little off. Even after tugging and wiping for a long time, there are still traces of mascara left - even after cleansing a numerous amount of times...like a lot left!
I am, though, glad that Maybelline do not test their products on animals! This makes me happy to see a quite popular brand of cosmetics to be cruelty free! :D
But overall, I really don't like this mascara. It goes on clumpy, doesn't leave lashes voluminous, thick, full or anything like that, leaves lashes uncomfortably brittle and hard and is VERY hard to remove!
I gave this a couple of chances, but every time, I ended up with the same results... Unless you just want lengthened (hard/clumpy) lashes and have the time to apply just to see length to lashes; then I guess you could try this out. But there are a lot of better mascaras out there to try!
Thanks for reading! :P
Have a nice day.
