Not As Good As I Hoped It Would Be.

Pros: Applies smoothly with okay coverage.
Cons: Doesn't last long on oily skin. Shades not light enough for skin tone.
The Bottom Line: It's okay but not great, mostly because I couldn't find a shade light enough for my skin tone. Also doesn't last long on oily skin.

| exlibriscat's Full Review: Maybelline Pure Makeup Shine-Free Foundation with ... |
I've been using Maybelline Shine-Free foundation for about two years now, but it seems to have been replaced in stores by the new Maybelline Pure Makeup foundation. The main reason I liked the old Maybelline Shine-Free foundation was the good color match for my skin tone, which is very fair. I used the Ivory shade.
I was excited about the new product, Maybelline Pure Makeup, and ordered the free sampler so I could pick my new shade. Unfortunately, they all appeared to be too dark for me--or at least too pink or orange. I had a coupon, so I thought I'd buy it and see how it worked anyway. I bought it in what looked to be the lightest shade available at the store, Light (01), Porcelain Ivory. I must also note that the labeling of the shades is very confusing (at least to me).
Application:
I like the way it comes out of the tube, and it seems to blend well with a nice texture.
Coverage:
Coverage is pretty good--I agree with others that you can layer it to get more coverage if needed. However, because of the shade being a little too dark, I don't feel like I'm getting all the coverage I'd like. I end up having to use more concealer than I did with the Maybelline Shine-Free foundation.
Staying Power:
Because I have very, very oily skin, I'm used to having to reapply my makeup 1-2 times throughout the day. With the Maybelline Pure Makeup, I feel like I have to blot my face and reapply makeup earlier in the day than with the old Maybelline Shine-Free foundation. I'm not very happy about that.
Overall:
I'm disappointed in Maybelline Pure Makeup, because it doesn't seem to work as well as the Maybelline Shine-Free foundation did for me. Mostly, I'd like to see it come in a lighter shade without a pink or orangy cast to it. It also doesn't seem to have good staying power for people like me with very oily skin.
