Pros: Good color, blends well, wears well, doesn't run, doesn't cause breakouts
Cons: Made my nose oily, have to use an applicator sponge, doesn't cover zits
The Bottom Line: If you want a nice light coverage that evens out your skintone and doesn't cause breakouts, I recommend buying this.

| emily37861's Full Review: Maybelline Pure Makeup Shine-Free Foundation with ... |
This is my first Foundation. At 16, I've never really worn much makeup except a little lip gloss and mascara, but when I saw this I decided to buy it. The fact that it's 50% water based instead of oil is what drew me into buying it.
Let me start off by telling you about the product.
It's a pale green bottle that holds 1 oz. of makeup. It has a screw on silver lid. There are spots of the makeup color on the front. This is what the Maybelline website claims:
"Shine-Free Foundation with H2O.
Formulated with 50% water instead of pore-clogging oils that can cause breakouts"
And I've found that to be the case. I haven't broken out at all from wearing this.
One thing about this makeup, though, is on the back of the bottle it tells you "Apply and blend with fingertips"
I've done just that, but I found that after just 2 hours, when I went back and looked in the mirror, all of the makeup had settled into every single pore on my face causing it to look like little white dots all over my face. I had to wash it off right then and there. Also, it just looked extremely powdery when I apply it with my fingers, and you can really tell it's there. What I've started to do recently, is get a damp applicator sponge, and apply a little bit to the sponge and then apply it to my face. It really evens out my skin tone that way, and it doesn't look powdery at all, but instead, it looks very natural and even.
At Wal-Mart they have a color chart to try and find the right color for you, but all of the colors even the lightest, were too orange and dark. I was contemplating for a really long time whether or not to buy it, but I finally decided to get the lightest, Light 1 Porcelain Ivory. I'm glad I did. It blended right in and matched my skin tone very well.
I do recommend this makeup, but use a damp applicator sponge to get good results.
