Save Face! Go Cheap without Looking Cheap!
Being prone to acne since I was a teen, I have always known the importance of using oil-free skin products on my face. And, since I was old enough to buy makeup at the drugstore, I started with inexpensive cosmetics, but was ultimately lured into department stores, where pricey foundations promised smooth and alluring coverage.
And, for several decades I bought into the myth that the more you paid for makeup, the better it performed.
I'm glad that, on a whim, I decided to give Maybelline Pure Makeup a try. At $5.99 for a teal-green tube, and available everywhere, what did I have to lose? At least I could keep the product in my purse for quick touch-ups.
A one-ounce tube of this water-based, shine-free foundation is available at most grocery, drugstores, and department stores like Target. So, no matter where you are on the planet, a new tube is there to help you "save face".
Product Description: The foundation comes in three skin tones: light, medium and dark. Within these skin tones are a total of twelve unique shades which should blend harmoniously with almost anyone's complexion. I have achieved a natural color match with the Light (1) shade for porcelain ivory skin (I'm very fair).
Besides being oil-free, Maybelline Pure makeup just feels smooth and light to the touch. It comes out of the tube in a controlled fashion, so you don't waste blobs of makeup during application. It does a good job of covering any acne (yes, that's clearing up now that I'm in my forties) and evening out my skin tone. A quick set with powder and blush, and I'm good to go!
Although I hope this makeup won't clog my pores and cause additional blemishes, I'm still experiencing some breakouts and redness which the makeup covers. A 1-oz tube of Pure Makeup lasts about 2 months of daily use, so it's WAY easier on my wallet than those designer makeups! So, sorry to all my former, extravagantly priced foundations... I'm saving my face for this budget-friendly formula.
