Pros: Upper refrigerator area. Solidly built.
Cons: Possessed ice maker, bottom freezer too small, fingerprints.
The Bottom Line: Think hard before buying a bottom freezer. Bending and digging in the freezer to find stuff is brutal. Fingerprints show up easily & ice maker is possessed.

| jabo79's Full Review: Maytag MFI2568AES Stainless Steel (25 cu. ft.) Bot... |
This is a very attractive refrigerator and has many great features. It also has aggravating features that would prevent us from buying a similar product again. First, the Good. The upper part of this refrigerator is great. The adjustable shelves, the drawer, and the door storage is nice and functional. Also, the stainless steel is attractive WHEN it is clean. It is hard to keep clean though and that makes for a lot of work. Next, the Bad. The bottom freezer seemed like a good idea to us because it seemed like the trend and seemed practical as most people are not in the freezer nearly as much as the other part. But, we are in there a lot anyway and there doesn't seem to be any room in there. Stuff stacks on top of stuff and before you know it, it's full and you don't know where anything is because it's pushed to the bottom somewhere. I also don't like having to bend over to get in there every single day. I will not get a bottom freezer refrigerator again. Last, the Ugly. I absolutely hate the ice maker dispenser. This crazy thing shoots more ice in the floor than makes it in the glass. If you don't already know, it doesn't crush ice, which is okay by me because I like it not crushed. But no matter how hard I try, I can't seem to get a glass of ice without pieces going in the floor...big pieces, little pieces...you name it. So there you go. I have a $2400 aggravation to put up with for years to come. I am going to buy another refrigerator to put in my basement someday when I finish it and hopefully get one with an ice dispenser that will work right and have a place to put some frozen stuff.
