Soap residues, twisting
I have had so many problems with this washer. For me it is mainly the lid lock/delay. I also agree with the issues of twisted clothes and soap residues (and I use the less than or equal to the recommended amount of HE soap), but I can learn to live with these issues, if I can just get the *&^%$ washer to run a cycle reliably. But the thing that is making me completely mental is the lid lock problem. I've only had the washer slightly over a year, and the problem started within a month or two of purchas. The first service visit involved replacing the lid lock, which helped a little for a few months, but then the problem started again. Sometimes it won't lock in the beginning (or struggles to), but more often it cuts off mid-cycle, at the beginning of a spin when it "checks" the lock. Second repair person just adjusted the rubber seal, etc. Now I'm out of the one year warranty and into the extended warranty and getting the MAJOR runaround - no one seems to think it's their problem now. I think it's Maytag's problem b/c it is obviously a problem with this machine. I should have tried to do something drastic sooner (replace/return?) before the year warranty passed... have two kids under age 3 though and it's just hard to keep up with everything... I just want a washer that works :( (boo hoo) Most recent service person thinks I need a new computer, which makes sense, but unclear who is expected to pay for this. I wish I could just start over with something different.
