Pros: Tub Size
Cons: Thin paint causes rust
No reliability of electronics
Company doesn't stand behind the product
I have a large capacity Bravos that is 15 months old. After 8 months the top of the unit on the underside near the bleach fill area started rusting very bad causing it to flake off into the laundy staining it. Maytag came out and would not replace it because the room didn't have airconditioninig. I had to buy a new top and replace myself so it was still usable. This time I sprayed outboard marine paint on it so it would not rust. The repair took a lot of time due to taking most of the thing apart and back together.
Now about 3 weeks ago it has been intermitently stopping in mid cycle in various stages of the cycle. Now it stops every time with multiple falt codes at all stages of the cycle.
After reading the repair blogs it appears I need a electronc control board, yes costly and no real guarrantees it will be fix the proplem.
A few bloggers gave an 800 to Whirlpool (the mfg.) that replaced this board for free after the 1 year warranty period. I called and they said the Maytag Brovos is not supported like Whirlpool Cabrio. These are the same machines and replacement parts.
I have decided to kick it to the curb. After reading the repair blogs these machine are riddled with problems. I'm not going to sink more time and $300 into it. I am going to buy another brand ASAP.
