I find that I like to add garlic to many foods I eat. I don't often have the patience or time to deal with cloves so I very often rely on powders and seasonings. This allows me to add a little flavor to my meal with a minimal amount of effort. I have come to enjoy the Mc Cormick Grinders Garlic Pepper Seasoning. This is a nice product that adds the fun of getting to turn the grinder.
This is a nice seasoning mix. It includes garlic, black pepper, sea salt and red and green bell pepper. The combination is pretty flavorful. I would prefer they not use the salt in the mix. There are 75 mgs per serving. Serving size is a quarter teaspoon so it's not likely one will really use a full serving in a single sitting. I guess nothing is perfect. I try to steer clear of adding salt to any foods I eat. I consume way too much sodium as is.
The garlic pepper seasoning goes great on chicken or beef. I have found it can be used to add some zest to a burger. If I were making a burger from ground beef, I like to add some in before grilling the burger. It can also be used to flavor beef stews. It blends in well with the gravy and other ingredients.
The manufacturers recommend it for chicken, beef, pork, pasta, fish, eggs and vegetables. It is a versatile seasoning. It can work quite well with scrambled eggs. I find a dash of garlic pepper seasoning and a squirt of Tabasco really livens up plain old scrambled eggs.
This is something that I recommend for most kitchens. It's an essential addition to the spice rack. It's not the greatest condiment. I realize that one can find better quality garlic or better quality black pepper. This is good because it provides a good mix. It's also something that can be used quickly. A couple quick turns and there's extra flavor in whatever you are eating.
It's also good to note that there is no fat, no calories and no cholesterol in this product. It's good to know that you can consume something flavorful that isn't doing harm to your body. I think this is a product that will please most people who like garlic and pepper flavoring with their food.
