| froggi338's Full Review: Mead Five Star Flex Hybrid Note Binder 29104 - Lar... |
When I started college last fall, I realized that I had to have an efficient way of keeping myself organized. Throughout K-12 I tried many different products, none that worked quite well enough. This product takes the best of every other product before it, and leaves out the negatives. Note: these are best used one for each subject!
- It holds large amounts of paper
I've used one notebinder for each class, keeping all my paperwork until the end of the term when I transfer it into less expensive ring binders for archiving. Inserting and turning pages becomes tricky, but about the same as in a fully-loaded ring binder. My latest class, at the end I had about 250 pages, 40 index cards and 3 CD's (tossed in a noteprotector) in the notebinder which was about its capacity.
- It can be folded around itself like a notebook to save desk space
- Pages can be easily removed and inserted in the middle
- Comes with 2 NotePockets
These are perfect for tossing papers in as the class ends, a flap at the top keeps them secure. This will easily hold a 10 page paper. These serve double-duty as dividers. They also have an index-card sized pocket on the front
- Comes with 3 NoteProtectors
Similar to page protectors, but easier to access. I found these most useful to hold a 1-3pg assignment to keep it from being damaged until I turned it in. These also serve double-duty as dividers.
- Cover is very flexible and sturdy. Mine have survived being drug around daily, either in my arms, in a backpack, or tossed in the car.
- It is compact. The cover sets flat on top of the pages, so it only takes up as much room as the contents, making these very portable.
- Rings, while difficult to open and close at first, wear down a little and become easier to work. So far they have not worn down enough that they will not close.
- Comes with 8 1/2 x 11 in college ruled paper and graph paper. The loose-leaf is not conventional size, but this size makes more sense as computer printouts are common and this paper is the same size. I've converted and now buy all my loose-leaf 8 1/2x11in
This has been the perfect product for me. I've tried binders, folders, poly expanding files. This is the best.
