Enfamil Poly-Vi-Sol is a multivitamin supplement drop for infants and toddlers. I purchased the 50 mL container from CVS for about $11 since it was recommended by the pediatrician.
"Enfamil Poly-Vi-Sol Multivitamin Drops are specially designed to help meet the nutritional needs of your growing infant or toddler. They are an ideal vitamin supplement during your child's transition to solid foods, during growth spurts, or for the picky eater. Poly-Vi-Sol Drops (0.5 mL) provide Vitamin D as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics for the exclusively breastfed infant and for infants and toddlers who consume less than 17 fl oz of milk or formula per day. One daily dose of Poly-Vi-Sol drops provides an excellent source of 9 vitamins and is fruit flavored."
Fill the dropper to the 1 mL line to provide the full daily dosage. use full dosage, regardless of age or weight, unless your child's doctor recommends a different dosage. Dispense with a single squeeze of the dropper bulb. It is normal for a small amount to remain in the tip.
Dosing Tips: Drops may be given by dispensing directly into the mouth. Drops may also be mixed with formula, fruit juice, cereal or other foods to increase your child's acceptance.

The pediatrician recommended that we supplement breastmilk with a multivitamin to ensure that Baby Grace was getting enough Vitamin D. She recommended Poly-Vi-Sol and so we purchased it from CVS and have been giving Baby Grace a dose of the multivitamin in her expressed breastmilk everyday.
The multivitamin is packaged in a container with a dropper dispenser. The container is child-proof, requiring one to press down and twist in order to remove the dropper from the container. The dropper has graduated marks on it - 0.5 mL and 1 mL. It is easy to squeeze the bulb and draw up 1 mL of the multivitamin. We simply squirt the amber colored multivitamin into the bottle and shake it to mix it into the breastmilk.
How does Baby Grace take to the Poly-Vi-Sol? Just fine. I was a bit worried that she would not drink the breastmilk because the addition of the multivitamin changes the taste of the breastmilk, but this has not been the case. In fact, she usually finishes the entire bottle when the multivitamin is added to the milk. I have tasted a few drops of the multivitamin and it doesn't taste very good! It also has a strange vitamin scent to it; reminds me of some of my own multivitamins. I'm not a fan of the taste, but since Baby Grace doesn't seem to mind when it is diluted in breastmilk, we will continue to use it at the recommendation of our pediatrician.
