| Maja's Full Review: Medela Mini Electric Breastpump |
This is a handy little pump with a few minor flaws that can be easily avoided. It is an electric pump that can run either with an electric plug into the wall or batteries for on the go! (super idea) It is entirely plastic, durable, and just as easy as manual pumps. It is also fairly inexpensive as far as electric pumps go-- I bought mine for $79. The product comes with two bottles which are convenient and easy for one hand use. I thought the different suction powers (1 through 3) was a great idea.
I bought this product because it was small, inexpensive, and from a good line of pumps. It was the second pump I had purchased, but the first electric pump. This pump was very easy to put together.
As for the flaws -- I can picture someone using this at work or while baby is asleep (my tactic). But this is not an item that can be used discreetly. It is noisy. It sounds like a vaccuum or a *excuse my lewdity* vibrator. Unless you want to bother others in the workplace or waking up baby I dont recommend this product. Also, it is not dishwasher safe. It MELTS in the dishwasher on the bottom rack. If I remember correctly the top rack was fine, but the bottom rack melted through one of the bottles. Thus, I wouldn't put it in the dishwasher at all, simply for wear and tear reasons. The opening in the pump was fairly small and uncomfortable.
This product has its pros and cons, but overall with some TLC it is a very good product for its retail price.
