Plot Details: This opinion reveals major details about the movie''s plot.
Lewis, a thirteen-year-old inventor with an "Alexander Graham Bell" attitude, is an orphaned boy, who despite his scores of interviews with potential future parents, can't seem to get adopted. Often making a mess with his Inventions, he's often coming up with ideas for things to build. With his roommate, Goob by his side to help, Lewis is often keeping Goob up at nights re-inventing and perfecting his latest contraptions.
Since Lewis was orphaned at age two, he often yearns to find out who his real parents are, coming up with the idea of inventing a time machine to meet his parents on the day he was left on the steps of the orphanage.
Seeing that Lewis has excelled in science, Lewis' science teacher has admited Lewis into the Science Fair.
The "bowler hat guy" interrupts the science fair, by "throwing a monkey wrench" into Lewis'latest invention. You find out later why this man, (who is dressed to stereotype a bad guy from the thirties), is trying to stop Lewis from becoming successful.
Given a chance, by happenstance, to travel to the future, Lewis meets The Robinsons, an off-beat family that is not only colorful in their own personal right, but has colorful personalities and adds to the family to make it whole. Through lessons learned through failure, Lewis learns the true value of life and the art of "keep going forward", even though you failed.
Pros
Disney And Pixar both shined in the light of brillance with this animation. with bright colors and dramatical characters, any three-year old could have fun as well as an adult of any age. The action never stopped, whether a plot was set to be funny, or the action involved the storyline, this was an entertaining 95 minutes for all.
The Cons
As any other brilliant movie ever made that not only deals with the of time of the past, but also the future, this movie starts to get too complex for the younger audience. TIP: The more times a character goes to the future and/or past, the more confusing the movie is gonna be. Proven fact.. this is why Back To The Future was made into three movies and not just one. Could you imagine trying to understand it if it was only one movie? Well, this is about how complex this movie's plot stood. Also, one of the greatest pros to this movie is that there were more than just three characters, but it almost became it's con also. There were way too many names to remember. Good thing though, their voices helped identify their role in the movie.
OVERALL
This movie was teaching all of us that you should look to the future, not the past. You should just keep moving forward, whether you failed or not. My personal best part to this CGI fantasy is when The Robinsons toasted Lewis for a "successful failure", which is quite the opposite of this movie. The morals to this movie was definately bright and right on the button. Always a plus when a movie "Teaches and Preaches". It's a loving concept and moving for everyone.
BONUS
Duel technology was enveloped around the "Meet The Robinsons" DVD.
Captivates real-life inventors and their lives.
The music videos were performed by Rob Thomas, (Little Wonders), and Jonas bros., (Kid's of the Future). The deleted scenes were just as good as the movie, only being edited because of time.
The Family Function game is also installed, becoming a game after you watch the movie.
Audio Commentary by the Director, Stephen Anderson.
MY INPUT
When the presentation of, "Meet The Robinsons", first came out, this movie appeared to be somewhat for a 3-5 year old, with the dinosaur running around and the CGI being so bright, so It took sometime before this movie watched. Not until I finally rented this movie did I find out that, lo and behold, this was truly made for the entire family. Ads aren't the best source for pushing a product if you're showing the wrong message. This was truly a must see!
