I hadn't really been looking for night lights, but one day, while browsing in Costco, I saw these Color Changing Night Lights. They looked so pretty, I bought them. These have 7 rotating colors (or 1 fixed color) at all times. The colors are: red, purple, teal, yellow, white, blue, and green. When sitting in a darkened room, as we were when we tried this out with just the light from the television, the colors are quite vivid. You almost want to 'ooh and ahh' they are so pretty! Each color is definitely distinct. I'd never seen a night light quite like this one.

Although I have not done so, there is a dimmable feature you can use. To me, when they are at their brightest, they are the prettiest too. Just by pushing the small white button on the front of the night light is what it takes to set both the color and the brightness.
Also, very nice too, is that the night light is cool to the touch. No burns for curious little fingers!
Of course, there is an automatic ON at dusk and OFF at dawn feature, with a photocell that detects darkness and light in a room, so when a room is light, the night light automatically shuts off. If you choose to, you can also turn the light off manually, press and hold the button until the light is off. To turn the light back on, simply press the button again.
The super bright LED bulb lasts up to 100,000 hours of usage, so no need to unplug it because it will last a long time. We have one in the hallway and one in the family room. There are times when I sit there and just admire the beautiful changing colors while listening to TV.
The unit itself is also quite attractive and looks like cut glass in a beveled or tapered bulb shape. I bought 6 of these night lights and gave them to everyone in their stocking for Christmas. The family all liked them very much. At Costco, they were a bargain, costing somewhere between $2.00-$3.00 each.
This Megabrite LED Color Changing Night Light with Photo Sensor is recommended for use in any room including the kitchen, bathroom, hallways, bedroom, living room, laundry room, even your basement or the garage.
The color of light and brightness will change smoothly every 13 seconds or so, throughout 7 colors. I would say the brightness is not quite as bright as with a white lightbulb, but it is adequate.
If you choose to, you can also set to one specific color and desired level of brightness -- just press the button as soon as that color and level of brightness appears and it's done.
If you change your mind, all you do is press the button again, wait for that color and brightness to appear, and then press the button one more time.
The clear plastic is attractively-shaped somewhat to look like a tapered flame. The beveled part of the plastic has been made to look like three layers of thickness with the top part being the thinnest (and most narrow). The top rim of each layer is frosted while the rest of the rest of the lighted portion is clear and shiny plastic. The lighted part is about four inches tall. It is very lightweight too and will help you save energy cost at just pennies a month.
