I have a 1999 Toyota Corolla with low mileage and in very good condition.  However, lately it has been parked outside in the sun and weather for quite a few months.  Needless to say, the paint was starting to look dull and oxidized.
     One Saturday afternoon, I grabbed my bottle of Meguiar's ScratchX to touch up a few scratches and dings on my wife's car (her baby.)  My Corolla was parked right next to it so I thought I would try an experiment.  On one cloth, I buffed a patch of the hood with Meguiar's ScratchX and with another cloth, I buffed a patch usind some Mother's Liquid Gold Polish and Scratch Remover.  Both sides showed an improvement right away, but when I backed my car out into the sunshine, the Meguiar's ScratchX patch was shining brilliantly!  My car is white, but the area around the patch that I had done with ScratchX looked dingy gray compared to the bright white patch.
     I decided to go for it and use it on the whole car.  I didn't do anything to prep the car except wash it first to remove any loose debris, bugs, dirt, etc.  The dull grayness of the road dirt and oxidation came off very easily.  The finish looked brand new!  However, the ScratchX is a cleaner, not a wax so I applied my favorite wax over the entire car after making sure all the ScratchX was removed.  That was over a monthe ago and despite being out in the rain and sun, the finish is still great looking and bright.
     I would use Meguiars ScratchX to repair any scratches, but it also make a terrific paint cleaner.  The abrasives are not too stron that it will damage the finish, but they will remove grime, dirt and oxidation.  I would highly recommend Meguiar's ScratchX for both purposes.  It is easy to use by hane or with an orbital car polisher.  Not much force is needed.
